The phone rang at 2 a.m....you all know the feeling of dread that brings. My dad had called the ambulance around 11:30 because she was sweating profusely, BP was 220/120 and she was having trouble breathing...all signs of her being fluid overloaded again (fluid in the lungs). We were with her from 4-7 yesterday and she was fine. It can change so fast. They did dialysis (she has been on for 4 years and has congestive heart failure...in Dec she had emergency surgery and was in the hosp for 9 weeks after her aorta dissected)...to remove the fluid and her bP went down. DH and I left hosp. around 4:15 a.m. My brother stayed til about 6. I went home, slept til 8 and then HAD to get in to work. Now I found out she's in ICU. Waiting to hear from my brother. PD and prayers, as always, greatly appreciated.

Thank you all. Each of these episodes is so stressful on her heart, so they just want to monitor her for a while.

Hey, Michele. Good thoughts and prayers for you and your mom.

Is she in Hackensack again? My niece got out a few weeks ago, and is under "house arrest" instead of being there. I never even got the chance to visit her in the hospital. The day I was supposed to go, my son broke his arm.

Between the broken arm and his First Communion party, I was pretty busy, and then she went home. I'd like to visit her at her house, but she's been very busy going to various doctors and what-not.

My sister got to see her, and was pretty upset. According to her, Lori (niece) is horribly shakey, pastey-white, and all around sickly. :(

I don't know how much more this kid can take. :( Probably the same with your mom--it must be so hard to go on and on, while you keep getting sick.

Oh my, sounds scary. I hope she's doing better now. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.
