Mom and Dad's Dream Trip-34 Yrs in Making-Jun08 SOUVIE PICS PG 51 NEXT TRIP!!???!!!!?

Jen, wanted to pass on a tip to you that someone else posted but I don't remember who.....?

They saturate a sponge with dish deteregent, let it dry out and then cut it up into cubes and put in a ziploc bag. This way you always have a sudsy sponge to clean out sippy cups, resort mugs, etc....

I will be doing this for sure this trip. I HATE washing out our mugs and sippys with the bar of soap.

The OCD packing list looks amazing! Mine pales in comparision!!! :worship:

Reading all the comments about Lost makes me want to watch Thursday's episode right now -- but I am afraid I would never stay awake for all of it! I am a huge fan along with Grey's. Unfortunately, we were unable to watch our shows Thursday night. :(

Thanks Deb!!! I hope everyone's weekends are going well!!!

Good Happy Sunday to everyone!! I hope everyone's weekends are going well!! I was all prepared to have to stay in yesterday due to the forecasted storms and rain that were supposed to deluge us all day---BUT GUESS WHAT!!!! Those meterologists of ours were ALL WRONG!!! It never once rained or stormed--instead it was by far one of the prettiest days we have had in a long time!! So we of course headed out to our favorite local park for a nice long walk--with Buddy Bear in tow of course! We have had a really nice weekend so far--Maddie came and spent the night Friday night, so we took them to pick up some movies to watch and then took them out for pizza. They both crashed early after watching only the first video they picked out--the Imagination Movers' "Stir It Up" video. Then Tom and I finally watched Thursday night's 'Lost' together. Saturday morning, I cooked us all a big breakfast--eggs, sausage links, and cinnamon rolls. Tom cut the grass quickly, and then headed out to get his hair cut--probably the last time before our trip. I treated the girls to a morning of "BEAUTY!" I gave each of them a big bubble bath, got them all "prettied up" as Megs says, and then I did manicures and pedicures for both of them. When Tom got home, he grilled us all some wonderful burgers, and then they played, played, played until Mike and the boys came to pick her up right before Megs' nap time. (Sidenote--he and the boys had just come from doing some guy clothing shopping for the trip!!! He did really well!! They were then headed to do the boys' last hair cuts before the trip, and then their DOLLAR STORE shopping for the trip!!! He promised to post about his finds---SO WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW ALL YOUR SHOPPING TURNED OUT MIKE!!!)

After Megs woke up from her LONG nap, we then went to the park for our walk--Tom and I did some great "Trip Talking" as Megan pushed Buddy in her baby doll stroller. Tom is getting excited, and he just wanted to go over the agenda for each day and our strategies for each park. We did talk about a great surprise about the trip-------I would love to share it with you all NOW, but then Mike would know and THAT would ruin the surprise!!!! I know this is like torture---BUT you guys are just going to HAVE to wait until the TR---So SORRY!!!! ;) But some surprises, just can't be ruined---SORRY MIKE!!! :goodvibes :rotfl: :woohoo:

We ended the night by hitting a local restaurant for a nice supper--thanks Tom--he wanted to treat me since I had such a busy week/weekend. AWWW!! Isn't he such a sweetie! We finished the night be continuing our Disney movie "marathon" by watching 'The Fox and the Hound.' It had been so long since I had seen that one. Oh well, it was a lovely evening!!!

Today the boys of the family--Tom, my dad, Mike, and Justin--have a golf tournament to head to today. The weather guys had projected rain--let us hope they are as wrong as they were yesterday!!! It is beautiful right now--lots of sun!!! Let's hope it stays! Who knows what us girls are going to get into!!!! I need to hit Target---maybe some Disney shopping in my future! I'll talk to you soon! Jen

Oh my gosh! I can't believe you are in the teens!!! I can't believe I am going to be in the teens on Tuesday!

Sounds like you are having a lovely weekend! I am hoping that today is a little less harried for me than the previous seven days! ;)

I am hoping for your sake that your week is an uneventful one for you considering all you went through last week!!! WHEW!! Just reading about everything made me feel worn out! Happy end of the school year for you!

I bet it was windy though! Happy end of the school year to you too!! I know it is right around the bend for you--  Jen

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!! Ours turned out great--the weather guys were SO wrong, and instead of rain all weekend, we had glorious sunshine!!! The guys had a great time at their golf tournament!! It is held every year in honor of a family friend that passed away two years ago from cancer. The proceeds are distributed to Hospice of Cincinnati and also two scholarship funds set up in his honor. Mike and Justin actually won a few prizes--Justin won a bucket of balls, and Mike won a family pass to one of the local swimming pools!! I am so excited for him--that will be a great help to him this summer! YEAH MIKE!!! :cool1: Beyond that, they just have a great day of spending time together!! I am so glad they had great weather for it!

Kristi, Mom, Megan, and I met up at Mom's house and headed out for a Target shopping trip and then we took Megs to a local park so she could play for a little while. We ended the night at O'Charley's for supper. Another nice surprise dinner--we had a great time spending girl time together. OF COURSE, we talked about the trip ALOT!!!! We are all getting so excited! I did a bunch of my trip shopping yesterday. Here are some of the things I purchased:
--a small rubbermaid container to hold all the food
--2 boxes of pop tarts
--2 boxes of granola bars
--2 boxes of fruit snacks--Cars and Princesses
--3 packs of travel packs of Wet ones
--one box of tissues (For the car) with the princesses on it
--Travel size shampoo and conditioner for me (several bottles)
--Travel size hair spray
--Travel size deodorant (got this free when I bought my regular deodorant)
--Bandaids--Princess version
--Travel pack of face wash cloths
--Travel size Neosporin
--Travel size Rolaids
--Excedrin
--An Intuition razor for the trip--I love taking those when I travel
--Large Ziploc bags for the days I need to take in Megs' costumes

I still have a few more things I want to pick up--I will need to do that another day! I will talk to you all soon!! Jen

Thanks for the kudos on the planning skills!!! Of COURSE I cheated off of you--;) ;) !!! Like the say, Great Minds Think Alike!!! :goodvibes

I went trip shopping yesterday, too! :goodvibes I can't wait to post about it!

I just caught your post on your PTR--great shopping finds, and I so LOVE the beach bag your student got for you--what a considerate child!!! I am so glad you like your travel organizer--I do have a couple more if anyone over there asks about yours from your picture--I would love to send them out to fellow "Disney Weirdos!" (is that what Charles said?) :goodvibes You just tell him if "loving Disney is weird/wrong, I DON'T WANT TO BE RIGHT!!":rotfl: BTW--Did you like the Mickey package the organizer arrived in? When I saw it, I just KNEW I had to send it out in that!! Who doesn't want to get their mail and see Mickey staring back at them!

you are all soo inspiring me to get my act together and make my lists! I think the hard part for me at this point is I still don't know if we are flying or driving and that changes things alot for paking and what I need to bring with!

I was at Target today too,and I almost got one but wondering if they worked or not?? but in the dollar spot (but was $2.50 I think) they had one of those mister fans but it looked kindof cheap so don't know if it "really" would work??
I should probably go back and get it for the cost.

You know, that is so funny that you mentioned the Target mister fans, because I saw those too yesterday, and thought the EXACT SAME THING!!!! I almost picked one up but, thought it looked a little cheap and easily breakable.

The first time I saw a mister fan was in Lesley's (from timandlesley) TR from last year or PTR from this year--one of their threads--and it looked much bigger than that one and better--it may have even had a cord on it or a spot that you could attach it to a cord for carrying purposes---HELP ME OUT LESLEY---am I remembering it correctly? I know that she has gotten hers at Walmart, so I think I will head there first and check out theirs before I get the one from Target.

So funny that we saw the same thing--it is a SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL!! Hee hee hee!!! Megan would love that shout out to one of her favorites!

The large size ziplocks are great... we used them for the princess dresses last year to contain glitter. We also used them as a mini-cooler and for wet clothing... if they were in the fountains at the parks, DTD, etc.

It is fun getting those trip essentials... my list is gone I think!

I added them to my list this year thanks to your TR from last year!!! Thanks so much!

Shopping Update

I did a little more damage today on the shopping list--bought some new bras and underwear (WOOHOO!!!) Tom made a funny joke about my bras the other day--hence the reason I had to get new ones--he said that he couldn't call them "Over the shoulder boulder holders" anymore, because the boulders had shrunk to pebbles. :rotfl: :lmao: Why is it that when we lose weight, the "girls" are the first things to go? I don't want them to disappear, but alas, they shrinking quickly!

I also got Megan a new swimsuit coverup and Snow White sunglasses, some Tinkerbell napkins for the car, and some small packets for medicine for my park bag so I don't have to carry the whole bottle with me each day---MIKE I HAVE PLENTY OF THESE IF YOU NEED SOME.

I did some other shopping--BIRTHDAY PRESENT SHOPPING FOR MY MOM!!! Her birthday is on Thursday--Yes Jackie--Indy's opening day! Mom is always a hard one to shop for because usually if she needs something or wants something she goes and gets it before we have the chance to shop for it ourselves! But this year, I had a plan because of the trip!!! We both LOVE to scrapbook, so I got her a Disney scrapbook for the trip with tons of Disney stickers and page kits to help her fill it up! I also intend on taking her to the scrapbooking store in DTD. I have always wanted to go look through there, but since I have been the only scrapbooker on my previous trips, I could never get a chance to look there---this year we will be hitting it together!! OH WHAT FUN!!! YEAH!! I know she will love the scrapbook, and it will be so much fun when we get back putting it together and filling it up with tons of pics from our FABULOUS trip!!!! What do you think gang?

I have to tell you a quick little story about the countdown calendar---Like I said before, Megan insisted that we put it in her room so she could look at it whenever she wanted to, so we left it there not realizing there could be some consequences to our actions. Saturday morning, I realized these consequences when my lovely angel decided she NEEDED to wake me up at 6:42am on a SATURDAY just so that we could pull off the next card. Apparently, whenever she rolls around, stirs at night, etc. and sees the calendar, it is an INSTANT alarm in her head to GET UP and PULL OFF the next card. My lovely angel usually sleeps in for a 4 year old, so having to do early duty shift with her again has put me back in that sleep deprivation funk from her newborn days. I am walking aimlessly around in a Disney haze!! I just hope I can snap out of it in time to get my act together and get everything ready in time!! THERE IS ONLY 17 DAYS LEFT!!!!:scared1: Can I make it? Can I finish everything I want to before then?????????? Stay tuned to see!!!!!!!1

I am so excited for you and your family. We were trying to do a grand gathering this year but it did not work out. So hopefully we can go next summer.
Have a great time and please take plenth of pics.:cool1:
