Mom and Dad's Dream Trip-34 Yrs in Making-Jun08 SOUVIE PICS PG 51 NEXT TRIP!!???!!!!?

Ok, since I've been to WDW (in August it will be my 5th time) with toddlers and preschoolers in tow every time I usually have tons of "kid" things to pack.

Don't forget sunscreen and I always see if I can get a sunblock stick for the little one's faces. And lip balm with a high spf too.....that florida sun is brutal and my kids lips always get sunburned. And a hat....I posted before that we get disney ones to autograph, but you could bring any hat but I find that it really helps the little ones with the sun and the glare.

I was laughing about your DH with his cokes. I would definitly get them for the room. In fact, we usually pick up a bottle of merlot for our room. Sometimes b/w running around all day and being wound up, plus so excited it can be hard to finally settle down and fall asleep....it helps to have a glass of wine before bed with DH!

Extra camera battery or memory card, whichever you use.

Extra pony tail holders (I always seem to lose mine, and dd is consantly losing hers)

Last year I had a loaf of ww bread in the room with peanut butter and jelly and I made a lot of quick sandwiches for the kids. Sometimes they were for breakfast, or a late snack. They ate so much junk and DH and I don't like to nag them to eat healthy in disney so I found that if they said they were hungry I could give them something quick and healthy.

If I think of more, I'll post......

Hurray for tickets!!! :yay:

Cute pics of the girls!

I need school to hurry up and end -- I am beginning to get the panicky feeling that I won't get everything done in time!

I can TOTALLY feel your excitement oozing out of your post! :goodvibes

 on the tickets!

great pics at the restaurant! Yes, Mike, we need a pic!!! :thumbsup2

Disney mail is the best mail! I know you were so happy to get those tickets - makes it just one step closer.

Our ticker is showing 43 days, 22 hours, and 1 minute until take-off for our June/July trip. I get to make ADRs for the November trip on May 26th, so it's getting exciting around here, too.

Glad you had a good Mother's Day. Definitie congratulations on the continuing weight loss. I wish I could get motivated, but by the end of a school day, I am wiped out. Keep up the good work!

Wow Jen, congrats on the weight loss! What a good, HEALTHY feeling that must be! It is so hard to stay commited in the beginning when you don't see results right away, but way to go!!

Love your pics from the school pic, she is such an adorable cutie pie!:lovestruc And I am so psyched for your wishes cruise! That will be a memory that you and your children (and entire family) will treasure! The kids will remember it their whole lives!

Keep posting, b/c I am hooked! :thumbsup2

It feels so great to actually see some of the results. I don't know if I have posted this yet or not, but one of the most fun ways I have stayed committed to this is to "workout" with Megan everyday. We have DirecTV, and one of our stations is FitTv--it plays aerobic programs all day long. We like to turn on one of their 30 minute programs, then mute the TV, and then we do the workout to her 'Imagination Movers' CDs. (They are the music group from the Disney Channel whose videos they show between cartoons during Playhouse Disney--think The Wiggles mixed with The Beastie Boys. Their music is great--good for the kids and enjoyable to listen to for the parents.) ANYWAY, we have so much fun!! I follow what the show is doing, and Megan either does her best to do the same or comes up with her own "exercise!!" We laugh and giggle all the way through--now this is an exercise regime I can stick with!

I am glad you enjoyed the pics!!! We are all going to have such a wonderful time on the Wishes cruise--can't wait!!!

Thank you for the tips for the list!!! I will definitely make sure I add those items I need to the list--love the PB sandwich idea!

One question: I have considered the sunscreen stick for faces before, but have been hesitant to use it--what does it feel like? Does it make your face feel sticky or lathered in sunscreen? I'm concerned because of Megan's sensory issues--if it makes her feel funny or she doesn't like the way it feels, she won't let me use it. Once you apply it, does it seem to just evaporate into the skin and not feel like you have anything on? Is there a brand you recommend? Please let me know!! TIA :thumbsup2

I totally feel for you Jackie!!! I already feel like that, and I am a stay-at-home MOM!!! I should have my act together better, but there is so much to do, and so much going on right now outside of the trip, I beginning to feel a little panicky!!! I know it is starting to sink in to my head because I'm starting to have the weird Disney dreams---see below!!!! I do empathize for you, because I have been there, done that, and know how CRAZY the end of the year is for teachers! Hang in there!

I can TOTALLY feel your excitement oozing out of your post! :goodvibes

You mean my excitement is starting to show! :lmao: :rotfl: I thought I was doing a good job of containing it! ;) I am glad you enjoyed the pics from the restaurant!!! I have one of Mike from there too, but I was sitting right next to him, so when I tried to take the picture, it is like an extreme close up --and since he is so tall (I think like 6'4" or 6'5")--it is from a weird angle where it looks like he is looming over me. I want to put a better one on here----MIKE HELP US OUT!!! :)

So super psyched about the tickets!! So excited for you two!!! Hey--let me know if you have any questions about your November trip!!! Last year, we got there on Turkey Day, and then stayed through the next 10 days--great trip!!! Let me know if you have questions about anything!

Thanks for the kudos on the weight loss--I know what you mean about being wiped out after the school day--I remember that all too well!! I am trying to take the best advantage of the time I have to focus on this now!!!

MeMom--I just noticed your signature--I didn't realize you had been to WDW in Nov before--forgive my ignorance!!! You DEFINITELY don't need any advice from me!!! Enjoy all your upcoming trips!!!!

YEAH!!! I am so excited you started your PTR!!! I am going to hop over there as soon as I am finished posting this. NOW--to post the link in your signature, you will go to "Edit Signature" and in the edit section type out what you want your link to say. Then highlight the section you want to be the link and go up to the toolbar and press the hyperlink button. It is the one that looks like the globe with a paperclip in front. A box will pop up, and all you do is paste the web address for your PTR in the box and hit OK. YOU WILL HAVE YOUR LINK once you submit your signature changes. Hope that helps! I'm so excited for you! Jen

List looks great... don't you wish it was all packed and ready in the car... time to go!

DON'T YOU KNOW IT!!! It would be even better if it was all packed/shipped and we were ready to fly down there. I really hate that we are going to drive this year in a way--I just want to get there!!! The drive down is going to feel like torture! We had such a hard time finding good rates this year for the flights--especially since we didn't start this trip planning until late and Cincy is really one of the WORST airports to fly out of in relation to cost!!! I know you guys are flying--how did you snag such a good rate? We even looked at flying out of all the other airports around--Dayton, Lexington, Louisville--but just couldn't find one that had a decent flight. Which airlines are you flying on? I need some expert tips and advice so that I am READY to go on booking the best/cheapest airfare---FOR THE NEXT TIME!!! (Oh, that is SO bad--we haven't even gone on this trip yet, and here I am already hoping for the next!! "Hi, my name is Jen and I am a DISNEYHOLIC!!!" :lmao: Not such a bad thing to be though!

I totally feel for you Jackie!!! I already feel like that, and I am a stay-at-home MOM!!! I should have my act together better, but there is so much to do, and so much going on right now outside of the trip, I beginning to feel a little panicky!!! I do empathize for you, because I have been there, done that, and know how CRAZY the end of the year is for teachers! Hang in there!

I keep telling myself that this time a week from now, it will be almost over!

Great packing list!

I have been having weird Disney dreams too! :lmao: I noticed this week that every single night I have dreamed of something weird and bizarre taking place at WDW! :rotfl2:

What a great packing list! I may use yours to check against mine.
We should be there about the same time! I can't wait!!

Awesome packing list! Another thing I wanted to mention....I was just at target and crayola makes these mini markers that have a ring on them and attach to a larger key ring type thing. It would be so easy to clip them all together and throw them in your bag with a small notebook for Meg to doodle with at the restaurants. I grabbed two packages for my little ones to entertain themselves at my older two sons lacrosse games and karate. But I think I'm going to go back and grab some more, along with colored pencils to take to WDW to use at the restaurants. Maybe grab a few packages of stickers too (disney princess of course!) that she can play with. Even the best behaved kids can get antsy sometimes when they are hungry or tired and sitting in a restaurant. I know we have a few late ADR's so this is what I'm going to do.

The sunblock stick is made by waterbabies. And it feels like chapstick rubbed all over your face. But, I like it b/c the regular sunscreen melts in that florida heat and then runs into their eyes and really burns  So I prefer the stick, and my kids are just used to it. Especially good with the little ones who rub their eyes when they are tired. KWIM?

And lastly, the imagination movers totally rock!:cool1: We saw them last year in disney for the little ones magical begginnings program. DH and I liked them better than the wiggles that we saw at WDW the year before (although wiggles are a true classic!) My kids were all dancing around with the bubbles! If you ever get the chance to see them in concert do it! They are all dads!:cool1: I've downloaded a bunch of their songs. DH and I say that their "I want my mommy, I need my daddy" song is our littlest ds's theme song!;)

Off to watch Lost, that I DVR'd from last night with DH! Have a good night!

Thanks for the compliments on the list--wait until you see the next installment--COMPLETELY OCD!

I am so glad I am not the only one having the CRAZY dreams!! Oh well, at elast I am dreaming about Disney!

What a great packing list! I may use yours to check against mine.

Feel free to use it all you want--Congrats on the upcoming trip--it is getting SO close!! :cool1:

Thanks for the tip about the markers!!! HOW AWESOME! I am going to definitely look for those!! I can think of a hundred ways you could use those!!! I hope I find them--I'll let you know.

I thought the face stick probably felt like that--kind of a bummer for us. With Megan's Sensory Dysfunction, it would send her into a complete sensory overload tailspin if it was that noticeable on her face. OH WELL!!! I have found some face moisturizer that she tolerates--I will have to stick to what works!! Thanks for the info!

In our house, the Imagination Movers have become as close as family--in Megan's eyes. SHE IS OBSESSED WITH THEM!!! She talks about them as if they were sitting in the next room---Rich is her favorite. Luckily one of our local libraries has a full collection of all their CDs and their one video---yes we have seen and heard them ALL!!! She now has her own copies and plays them ALL THE TIME!!! I am glad their music is enjoyable, otherwise I might be pulling my hair out! I know they are in the process of filming their own show for the Disney channel. I hope when that is finished, they go out on tour. We will DEFINITELY go to see them when we can. It is so cute, because she knows the words to all the songs and will lip-sync and dance along with them.

How funny that you watched Lost last night--SO DID WE!!! Our DVR works in overdrive on Thursday night--to many good things to watch!
