We had a Dole Whip on each of our MK days. You can't go to MK without having one. I thought that was illegal! Anyways....Cosmic Rays is a must on every trip. So many choices and LOTS of seating. In my 8 trips to WDW, I've never eaten at Casey's. Being from Syracuse/Buffalo, I cannot eat those kind of hot dogs. We have THE best hot dogs here (Syracuse-Hoffman's hot dogs; Buffalo-Sahlen's hot dogs) and they're always grilled. If WDW starts serving Sahlen's, the line would be out the door!!!

1900 Park Fare ~ Grand Floridian

I had always wanted to do a princess meal but living with all boys I could never get anyone else interested. But I decided this time I was just going to do it and they would all have to deal with it! So I chose 1900 PF thinking that it would be the best one for the boys with the evil step-mother and step-sisters to keep them entertained. And I was right!

So we made our way to the GF for our 5:10pm dinner ADR. We had been to the GF before once when we did a monorail resort tour but didn't know exactly where 1900 PF was. We got off the monorail and took a look around and spotted it downstairs. We got there right on time and were seated right away! It is a really pretty restaurant and nicely decorated. A little girly I guess, but none of the boys said anything! Our waitress was very nice and efficient. The characters were already making their rounds when we got there and they all came to our table one right after the other.

The food - well I have to say that I was not impressed. It was your average buffet food. Okay I guess, but not as good as Chef Mickey's and not near as good as Crystal Palace. I thought the buffet was rather small too. Although it was never crowded when we went up. The desserts were very good! Here is the menu ~

"An All You Can Eat Character Meal

COST: $29.99/adults; Children 3-9 $14.99

Starters - spring mixed greens, Caesar Salad, Dressings, Broccoli Salad with cashews, Greek salad, ambrosia, tomato mozzarella salad, macaroni salad, apple with port vinaigrette, peel and eat shrimp

Soups - cream of mushroom, tomato florentine, and chilled strawberry

Accompaniments - sweet potato and red bliss mashed potatoe, brown gravy, carrot and broccoli medley, sauteed squash with chives, niblet corn

Desserts - apple cobbler, bread pudding, brownies, key lime tarts, linzer torte, rice krispie treats, chocolate chip cookies, lemon cheesecake tart, Edy's Soft Serve Ice Cream"



Whether all that stuff was up there or not I don't know. It sure didn't seem like there were that many choices!

The characters were awesome and spent plenty of time with the kids. They signed their autograph books and posed for pictures and asked them questions. One of the step-sisters asked where we were from and DS9 said PA and she said - Where? The part that makes chocolate or the part that steals??? We got a good laugh at that! And somehow DS9 ended up dancing with one of the step-sisters! Priceless!

So am I glad we went? Yes! Would we go again? Probably not. The food just wasn't worth it and I got the princess meal desire out of my system! The atmosphere was wonderful though and the characters were a blast and we all had a nice time. Plus it's where we met DISer Trixiequilts and family!

We sat at the exact same table as you! That is so funny....yes I agree the character interaction was fantastic, the food was terrible, not much to choose from and what was there was awful...the desserts were very good (and the cocktails too ) but I know we will not go back there.

DD had been to the BBB that day and dinner was at 5:30 I think? I'd have to check my report notes.

No, 1900 PF is not a buffet I would recommend to non-buffet people such as your family! But I'm still telling you that you must go to Crystal Palace!

I remembered when I was there that there were 2 other Snowbirds going to be there. I knew one was Trixie and found her pretty easy, but couldn't remember who the other one was. Bummer. We could have met!

I think I only enjoyed the potatoes because I normally don't eat them - it was my treat for the trip- i remember getting lots of potatoes no matter where we ate- LOL! The desserts were also very good.

It is a Bummer because it would have been nice to meet people we read about all day long!

I know the family next to us had 10 or more people and were very distracting because the dads of the group were smitten with Cinderella.

I also know I felt lack of air in 1900 Park Fare - probably due to no windows!

Your boys look like they had fun! Which is nice (esp for a Princess meal)

I don't think we would go back?

It's funny too because I review the "IS this you" picture thread on the Theme Parks Community board- looking just to see if we are in the background of any photos- low and behold there are people we know.

I'll check my pics and see if you're in them
