Mom and Dad and 2 Picky Kids do the DDP ~ With Lots of Pictures!

Wednesday Jan 21st ~

Let me start by saying that I'm not a big fan of hot dogs! But we stumbled upon Casey's Corner on our second trip and have been going back ever since. DH and the kids had a very light breakfast in the room that day and I didn't have any breakfast so we were all getting hungry by late morning. So we got to Casey's Corner just before 11:00am and they weren't even open yet. So knowing that there is very limited indoor seating there (and it was very chilly that day) we waited them out and were the first ones in the door when they opened!

Side of Chili $3.09
French Fries - $1.99
Apple Slices $1.29

Cracker Jack - $1.49

Soft Drinks - Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Orange, Light Lemonade & Iced Tea - $2.09 & $2.39

The kids got the Corn Dog Nuggets, fries, and hot chocolate. DH and I had the 1/4 lb Hot Dog meals with fries and a drink. We all chose the Cracker Jacks for dessert on the DDP because we had the Brownies on previous trips and remembered that they weren't very good.

The kids love the Corn Dog Nuggets at Casey's! And it is a nice change from all the chicken and pizza they have to eat all week at Disney. DH loves the hot dogs. He really loves the fixings bar with all the toppings for the hot dogs. I think the hot dogs are good I guess, for a hot dog. I really love the cheese sauce that is on the fixings bar and I used it for my fries. Very yummy!

Casey's Corner

Overall 4.5 out of 5
Food 4 out of 5
Service 5 out of 5

Hi Shelly! We have never tried Casey's before. I have it planned for one of our MK park days next week! Thanks for your review.
~Lauren

ETA: Sorry to be a bit off topic, but how cold was it on that day? I see that your boys have gloves on! We are from MA, so I am hoping to escape the cold!

I have mixed feelings on 1900 PF, but we'll get to that soon!

I would recommend trying Casey's!

It was cold that day. The high was around 50. The morning was even colder of course. But it wasn't anything we couldn't handle being from PA! And let me tell you MK wasn't very busy that morning!

Orlando had record low temps the first few days we were there. Lucky us! It was funny to hear on the news that the early morning temps were going to be in the upper 20's and telling people to "please take your children to the bus stop in a vehicle" because it was going to be too cold to be outside. :rotfl2: A 20 degree morning at the bus stop here in January is a warm morning!!

Luckily it warmed up after that day and we had perfect 78-82 degree days the rest of the trip and were able to swim! :goodvibes

I think we were there the same time, Jan 20-25 at the Poly and man were we cold...brrrrrrr

Yep, 20-27. It sure was cold on the 20th and 21st. The 22nd wasn't bad and after that is was great! :goodvibes

Would you recommend the Poly?

Without a doubt! DH and I have stayed there twice and loved it, DH was really pushing for me to book it when we took our nieces last month and the kids were in hog heaven!

The staff is just so great, the food court has alot of great choices, the room in the Samoa building was close to everything and large enough for the 4 of us without feeling crowded. Mousekeeping was just so great, my little 6 year old niece had a rough night of sickness three times and mousekeeping came asap, the next morning they changed the mattress and cleaned all the carpet. The monorail was perfect for travelling with the kids.

It did warm up for us a few days and we spend one day at the volcano pool and the beach, the girls were in heaven. They have pails and shovels just laying around for the kids to use, the pool was nice and heated and the older girl got me to go down the slide a few times. It was great having lunch outside, the bar was a nice touch too.

We are going back next month, supposed to be POFQ but I changed it to the Poly again...we just love it! My nieces keep calling asking us if they can go back with us next month but I think DH and I need a grown up trip!

Mmmm I love the corn dog nuggets from Casey's! That stinks that it was pretty chilly out that morning though because it's so fun to sit outside on the patio!

One thing that I'm disappointed about regarding our trip is that I didn't get any of those corn dog nuggets.

Thanks for all the great info! :goodvibes Sounds wonderful!

Yeah, we definitely wanted to sit inside that day!

I KNOW! :faint: The full day we were at MK we decided to not do Spectro and meet Tink instead, so we didn't want to head to mainstreet to eat right before 7. We went to Cosmic Ray's instead. It was decent...big portions, but I'm still bummed I missed those little corn dog buggers!

I've always wanted to try Cosmic Ray's. I've heard it is a neat place. But we always have to go to Casey's instead! Maybe next time we will just do 2 CS meals on our MK day. . .

Okay, sorry I lied! I forgot about our little snack stop that afternoon.

Wednesday Jan 21st ~

Aloha Isle

In Adventureland in MK!

We were ready for a little snack about mid afternoon. Well DS9 and I were anyway! So naturally when at MK and wanting a snack we went to Aloha Isle!

Menu ~

"Dole Whip Soft Serve (pineapple, vanilla, chocolate, or swirl) - $2.89

Pineapple Float - pineapple Dole Whip with pineapple juice $3.99

Coke or Root Beet Float with vanilla Dole Whip $3.69

Fresh Cut Pineapple Spear $3.29
Assorted Chips $2.39

Pineapple Juice $1.69
Orange Juice or Apple Juice $2.39
Hot Cocoa, Hot Tea $1.89
Nescafe Coffee $1.89
Smart Water $3.25
Bottled Water $2.00
Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Root Beer, or Minute Maid Light Lemonade $2.09, $2.39"

I got the Pineapple Dole Whip Float. DS9 had a Vanilla Dole Whip Soft Serve in a cup. DS7 was just a little thirsty so he got a bottle of water. And DH (who doesn't care for Dole Whips :confused3 ) got a coffee. Each item was one snack credit on the DDP!

My Float was so good I asked it to pose for a picture! :rotfl: And yes, at this point my family (and probably others around us) thought I had lost it!
