Mom...am I supposed to have shoes on?? - August 2013 ***FINISHED 5/5***

Cute pictures of Bradley and Sara.

POFQ is such a pretty resort. Too bad you were too hungry to tour it properly. Oh well.

I know what you mean about being in between the adult and the kid's meals. I remember when my nephew was that age. By the end of the week I felt so bad for him because the food choices were terrible and we were on the dining plan.

Still following along. Extremely busy here. Have lots to catch up on. So excited to hear that Bradley lost his first tooth. It was nice of you to surprise D, A and V. It was so nice of D to have a pillowcase for Bradley. Off to finish ready everything! Have a wonderful day!

Suzie - The picture of Sara in front Castle????? Did you threaten everyone in the park not to Photo Bomb you picture???

Here you go again tempting me with Mickey Waffles. The Peter Pan in the pic with Bradley looks so kind and friendly. The Peter Pan on the TV show Once Upon A Time on Sunday evenings is really mean...:lmao:

POFQ - Do you remember we both stayed their last year?? What a Super Resort.:thumbsup2

Hi Suzi!

I thought I had subbed to this thread but I guess I didn't - I think that's called a senior moment. I seem to be having a lot of those lately. LOL

Anyway, now I have to go back and read everything - which will be for tonight when I'm home - if our internet service is back up.

Oh my goodness what a whirl wind it has been around here. How dare real life get in the way of the DIS :p

So.....I have a few minutes to myself, so lets try to get an update in shall we??

Great update, Suzi. Love the photos of Bradey with Peter Pan...you can see that they are having a very serious conversation.

That was so nice of you to go meet D, A and V when they checked in at POFQ. And how like D to make Bradey a gift. :goodvibes

Hi Kathy....yes Peter and Wendy were great with him. I saw that they only had a couple people in line, so I thought it would go quickly, but they really took a while with each guest. It was great interaction, but made us later than we wanted for the other rides.

And I am so glad we took the time out to go meet D. It was great to see her face!

That looks like a great spot to view the welcome show... We will have to try that location next time - since we are one of those who always smash in like sardines...

It would work well for you because you guys aren't off and running when the gates open. You usually go up to wait for the train to come back around, right? So hanging back out of the way would actually work well for you.

This was such a memorable thing... I mean, literally, the girls and I walked into FQ - and my eyes just found Suzi - it was soooo cool and I was sooooo excited! To walk into your resort and see one of your best friends- it was AWESOME! Again - thank you so much for taking time out of your day to come and welcome us to WDW. :grouphug:

Awww....it was fun. I do wish I had walked around a little outside so Sara could've seen it, but I just wasn't thinking. And I didn't know which bus you would be on and I didn't want to miss you. We sat through 3 M.E. buses before you got off. I knew what you were wearing because Mo sent me a picture of you in line at the ME at MCO. So I knew what to look for.

I know - I am very disappointed in us... I have the one picture - and it's not very flattering to anyone in it - so I wont post it again... Next time. :thumbsup2 Because there WILL be a next time!

Darn right there will be a next time. Not sure when...and the next time we are there together might be the girls trip, so we will have TONS of professional pictures from that trip. Remind me to starve myself before that trip....or.....just buy lots of paper bags. Can we go at MNSSHP time so we can wear costumes to disguise ourselves in pictures??

Can't get rid of me.. i'm always stalking you... :goodvibes

The Splash picture.. I laughed out loud that i disturbed the meeting going on in the conference room!!!

Yeah, the Splash picture.....I was trying to laugh and point at Bradey, but it was really hard to hold on that way :rotfl2:

I don't think Bradey can get any cuter then this.. I love the meet and greet the tooth. you really had a magical trip! Was Peter wearing a wig? looks like his real hair?!?! how fun is all that?!?!

I think that was his real hair. He was a perfect Peter.

Love the D~ meet!! :woohoo: where is the picture of the pillow case?!?!

Sorry, no pic of the pillowcase. Honestly....we didn't get pictures of us together at the meet. We certainly forgot to get a picture of the pillow case.

Sara looks WONDERFUL and totally ay home in front of the castle...

Yeah. Well, she had a little setback with her Disney career. I hope she still goes for the internship even if she can't be a character. She would still have a blast. And it would give me an excuse to go again this winter/spring.

signature pillow case sounds really neat - very nice of D to do that

Glad your plan to surprise them worked out :thumbsup2

It was a neat idea. We had already seen most of the characters for the trip though. And my bag wasn't really big enough to carry it around with us. So I am going to transfer some photos onto it instead of the signatures. Haven't gotten around to that yet, but it is going to look fantastic when I get it done.

Cute pics! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Thank you!

Well, I have seen POFQ before. I stayed there last year. It is one of my favorites by far. I recommend it to everyone who asks......so beautiful and small and fun.

Yeah, I don't know why she made a fuss about it, I thought it didn't matter with the QS meals. I thought they only did kids meals with the TS. :confused3

Losing his tooth was so great down there. He is close to losing his second tooth now and I just hope he understands that the Disney tooth fairy was way more generous than the Maine tooth fairy will be.

Suzie - The picture of Sara in front Castle????? Did you threaten everyone in the park not to Photo Bomb you picture???

Hahahah....nope. That's the benefit of 1) getting there for rope drop and 2) watching the show from outside the turnstyles. Everyone in front of you clears out before you get there. Pretty empty looking.

Here you go again tempting me with Mickey Waffles. The Peter Pan in the pic with Bradey looks so kind and friendly. The Peter Pan on the TV show Once Upon A Time on Sunday evenings is really mean...:lmao:

I agree. I can't watch that show. It is scary!

POFQ - Do you remember we both stayed their last year?? What a Super Resort.:thumbsup2

Do I remember???? Of course I remember. What a great trip!

Sorry to Hijack -
Midori turned 14 today !!! :littleangel:

:bday: Midori

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MIDORI!!!! Sorry I missed it. I just haven't been able to get on here much lately between Bradey's school and soccer, work and starting my own AVON business. It's been crazy around here. Hope she had a great birthday!

Hahahaha....Hi Tess. I know you were here at one point :confused3 Don't worry, I am not very fast moving on here, so you should be able to catch up in no time.

I, for one, I am SO glad your TR moves slow! ::yes:: I only missed one update..now I am all caught up again! :cool1: That is so incredibly cool that you surprised D~ and her girls! :goodvibes

I have STILL never seen the opening show for MK... :faint: I will some day..I just know it! :thumbsup2

I, being the Disney food lover that I am, just LOVE the pictures of your POFQ lunch. YUM! We finally go to try the Food & Wine festival this time...TO. DIE. FOR!!! Seriously good food..and I got pictures of EVERYTHING we tried! I was a MUCH better Diser on this trip with the food porn pictures than I was last year! :woohoo:

Okay, so we had opened up Magic Kingdom, then welcomed a great friend to The World. Now it is time for dinner. Last July, when I took my cousin, Sara's sister Dani to WDW, I tried Boma for the first time and I was hooked. I know a lot of people love it for breakfast and some day when I stay at AKL, I would like to try it. But it is just so far out there that I find it daunting to try to get up that early.

So we go for dinner instead. Bradey and Sara both just loved this resort. I will stay here one day.

We made our way across the beautiful lobby and down the stairs to check in. I think we had a great location. We were right next to the buffet, but had a nice little "fence" to block the noise and people.

Not sure why this is sideways, but you can kind of see the "fence" and the buffet behind Sara.

I just love the decor in this place. Look at the hidden Mickey on Bradey's chair

And the food. O.M.G the food. Yum.

They have a big carving station set up on the far end, but the meat is not the starring attraction. It is all the amazing salads and side dishes that steal the show. I like to start out with the hummus and bread

And Sara followed my lead with her first plate...

And Bradey dove right in with the chicken leg mac n cheese and I made him try the watermelon rind salad. He was not a fan.

My second plate - I apologize for not writing down what all these salads were, but I just can't remember. I know there was not one thing I did not like.

And Sara's second

It was about then that I remembered the soup. I had to get Bradey some to try. This butternut squash soup is TO DIE FOR. It is sweet almost could be eaten for dessert. He loved it.

And I had to have some too.

Bradey had a couple chicken legs and two helpings of mac n cheese along with some veggies and fruit. Here he is cleaning up his last plate.

Then one of the hostesses grabbed a drum and got his attention. He actually got to participate in the drum parade they have there. He NEVER would have done this last year. He is normally very shy.

As they went around the room, they gathered a few other kids, but Bradey was the first! I was so proud of him!

Such a great meal and a fun time.

Well, after that work out, it was time for dessert.

Bradey's plate

Sara's plate

And mine

I remembered from last year that I don't care for the Zebra Domes like everyone else seems to. But Sara was ummmm...ing so much that I just had to try one again to make sure.

Yep, still don't like them. Bleh. And they didn't have my delicious vanilla bean sauce that they had last year. I let our server know that they had better have that next time I come. She said she would see what she could do about it :thumbsup2

So after dessert, we settled up the bill then headed outside to see what animals were out and about.

There were actually quite a few right there by the viewing platform. Bradey loved this and I think it is what made Sara want to stay there the next time she goes.

We hung out with them for a little while

Then we headed inside....Bradey wanted his picture taken by this sign for some reason

And Sara wanted one here..,

Heading in the doors, Sara waited patiently for people to get out of her shot

Then it was time to leave. We had someplace to be and another first for me.

So glad you had another great meal at Boma (me, personally, I'll stick to breakfast; don't like hummus, not a big salad fan and don't like squash :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:).

I love the change from last year to this year with Bradey and his overcoming his shyness. Good for him. :thumbsup2

WHAT A FANTASTIC UPDATE!!!
the food does looks yummy!!! Sara does love desserts! and you guys with the picture perfect plates!?!? you have everything in it's place, and arranged perfectly! i can guarantee i will never have that... :lmao:
Bradey look very happy with his Chicken legs!

I am so happy He finally is coming out of his shell to do all these FUN things in Disney!! Just wait.. they come out.. then they go right back IN because they're too cool... I am working on this now... I hope Bradey keeps coming out. He is such an adorable boy he needs to show the world what he is capable of!!!

AKL Looks amazing. so beautiful. yet way too far away from everything. I think it is more for people who spend lots of time at the resort?

What a great update!!!

First - I have a picture of the pillowcase - somewhere... I took it to show Mo before we left... I'll have to see which folder I put it in...

Then... LOL... I can't believe Mo sent you pictures of what we were wearing... You two crack me up - I just love you both!

Boma looks amazing!!!! We ate there for dinner in March 2012, and it was great... However it didn't make our must do list last trip... I am quite certain that it will make it for the next trip though.

Hmmm... I've always wanted to stay at AKL too... I know it's far out there - but have we even considered that resort for our girls trip? That would be FUN! We could do a bunk room??? I am not really a fan of the top bunk, but we could take the matress down and put it on the floor? I think we should consider this.

I loved your update Suzi... And I love how brave Bradey was during this trip - he tried so many new things! I miss you guys terribly!!!

D~

Hey, everybody's having fun without me. Suzi, you missed my comments. Apparently I was posting at the same time you were, my comments appear right before your post.

Anywho...Boma is definitely on our to do list for our next Disney vacation! :thumbsup2 Brian and the kids and I are very adventurous eaters, so I think we would love Boma. We had Sanaa last year...and LOVED it, too!

That savannah shot was like JACKPOT! So many different animals in one picture!!! We saw some animals when we visited Sanna, but they were very scattered. You definitely hit it at the right time..WTG! :cool1:

AKL - WOW!!! :cool1: What a great resort. Really enjoyed our stay there this past July...

You make us miss it so much... Got to go play our videos and go through our pictures now.:happytv:

Ok, I am finally all caught up!

You are making me miss Disney so much! Can't wait to go back. I would love a girls trip too!

You should consider renting points from DVC and stay at one of the deluxe resorts!

Ok, my brain is fried right now and I'm going to go veg and watch tv.
