Molars ??

How long does it usually take 1st molars to break thru?? My DS (5) is getting his first one and of course we leave for Disney in 8 days!!

I know that the other bottom one isn't far behind it, based on the xrays he had at the dentist recently...they were both right there. He is so miserable and nothing is helping him. Any suggestions?? He is on a regular does of Tylenol, we've put ice on his cheeks and he's been eating freeze pops and ice cream sandwiches. He won't let me touch it to put anbusol or anything on it.

Wow! My girls did not start getting their molars until they were well over 6, and they have not complained about them at all - not one little bit. And I actually have never heard any of their friends or other kids I know complain that much about them.

I wonder if a call to your dentist is in order, and if maybe something else is going on.
