Mojito Monkey Mama's 2 cont'd

DivaKristin, it is not lack of caring that I do not always post and such but I am a bit overwhelmed right now, I am always overwhelmed though. I have grandkids and volunteer at the Community Center and now spend at least one, or more, days at a hospital or doctor's office and I am worn out when I get home and do not get on the computer. I did miss you though.

Doesn't necessarily sound like a bad thing...an extra day @Disney?!?!?
But I am sure it stressed you out since you have a lot on your plate right now...YOUR GETTING MARRIED! :goodvibes
How does this change your itinerary/schedule????
:confused3

it caused a conflict between me a great friend cuz i did something stupid not realizing that Disney uses your last name for everything (how dumb was that??) anywho its all over with now and everything is A okay I think, got a room added to our stay at Pop so good to go.

My six foot 17 year old grandson came in the back door today to see his dear old granny (me) :rotfl: and check his email and such. He showed me a rash on his upper leg and told me that he was going to the doctor as his leg hurt so badly. He has shingles! I did not know that young folks could get them. I wish I could take them for him. School starts tomorrow. :scared1:

Timmie, please do not try to do everything. I promise you that we will still love you even if you do not show up with a wagon full of goodies. Sometimes YOU are enuff! Really!

DivaKristin, I can only take it easy. It is how I roll. :woohoo:

Shingles are a variant of the chicken pox virus so anyone can get them. A very good friend of mine in college had shingles and I think she was bout 21 years old when I found out. I have no idea how many years she'd had them.

yeah!! do you know if they got everything for sure and if it had spread?

How is her DS doing???

Hey Nancy:) Thanks for asking about Mom & DS. I thought I had posted but maybe it was on another thread. As KB said, my Mom is doing super. Surgeon feels he got it all, pathology report came back good. There were no signs on the perimeter  . She is going to see an Oncologist tomorrow(my sister's Dr.) just to be on the safe side but chemo & radiation are probably not necessary.:cutie: :worship: :yay:
DS started school today & did well. His elbow is not broken:banana: and he may be able to have a half cast next week. Dr said if all goes well he will put a water cast on day b4 we leave.
I've in MIA lately but my sister & bil are now coming to WDW with us. I will have more time to chat now that school is in session.
  bon

Hi from PA. I had shingles when I was 20. Mine was part way around my waste. The doctor said since I had Chicken Pox so young and because some pox remained dormant, the shingles came out at an earlier age. He said I was also more susceptible to get shingles again, but I'll be 40 next week ( :sad1: ) and haven't had a case of them yet. As long as he uses the medication as directed and he doesn't bother it, he'll be good as gold in a few days.

SlightlyGoofy how is your grandson doing? Is Grandma working her magic :wizard:

tiggerx3 does that mean since I've never had chicken pox that I can't/won't get shingles cause I don't have the virus in me?
(BTW where in PA are you from? I am originally from Pittsburgh.)
Has anybody ever heard of taking their kids to a chicken pox party so their kid will be exposed to the virus??? :surfweb:

Glad to hear that both Mother & son are in super shape. Excellent job in taking care of them both. Can't wait to see you in WDW! I will see you, right?

Who is it in our group that I'm going to miss by a day? We arrive on the 10th. It's you, isn't in Bonz?

Nope, you're not off the hook:rotfl: We come home on the 14th. Arrive on the 4th, but now have a dilemma. Airtran has changed flight:rolleyes1 we are now scheduled to leave at 6:55 am:scared1: . We done the early flight b4, not fun. Anyway, they said since they have changed flight I could have the option of leaving out of Chicago at 7:30 on the 3rd. We would arrive around 11pm. I am going to call WDW & see if we can get a day added. I really think I'd rather do the late flight, I at least wouldn't have to get 2 kids up & ready at 4am. See you soon!

Yes I went back through the post and must have missed your post somehow but its always nice to know that everyone is A Okay!!! Glad your doing better and Great news about DSis/DBIL coming with you more people to celebrate with!!!

Not sure if you read or not but I am now coming down on the 5th instead of the 6th so WAHOO!!

Thanks for all the good thoughts about my grandson. He went to school yesterday and had to take his meds to the nurse's office and was not told to go home. "Good as gold"? (tiggerx3):lovestruc Now, I love that boy and he is not a bad kid but not quite that good. Cannot play the piano either. :rotfl2:

Bonz, I am glad that most of your distractions are good ones especially that your mom is not going to have to go through more 'stuff'. Bet she is over the moon about that too! I hope you get that extra day because if you are worn out when you first get there you just never get caught up and ending up losing days. I know.

tiggerx3, my research would say that if you have never had Chicken Pox you should not get shingles however you MIGHT have had a very slight case and not have known it. I recently had 'Shingle'. ONE, singular. They gave me the meds and it disappeared with the first pill. About the third pill I had an acid experience. Thought I was having a stroke it was so bad. I do not have drug reactions. Scared me to death. :scared1:

DivaKristin, I have heard of such parties and thoroughly agree with them. Anytime you can plan an illness it is a good thing, more control. I remember when the whooping cough went through my family, one at a time. We had 8 kids. No sleep for months. Unless a child has problems I believe it is good for them to get some germs and be a bit tougher for when something else comes along. Much better the take with babies of today than the secluded ones of the past but then the past had far worse things than we do now.

Mom2Evie, your friend had t hem for years?:scared1: I had read that a couple of weeks is common for young folk. I hope so.

Pooh, did your laptop get bent, spindled or mutilated in the fall? I hope not. I have heard they are fragile. I have never tested that theory out though.

I have much to do today as tomorrow I will be at the hospital. My husband is excited because he wants to eat at his favorite place afterward. Timmie, will I be able to eat after and endoscopy and Bravo Probe? Not that it matters. :confused3

SG

No Ms. Linda just the thingy that plugs into the laptop from the adaptor or something like that. No big deal just can't use it yet because the new one hasn't come.

hopefully it will be here in the next 2 days cuz I am going stir crazy at home without my Dis.

Linda, well wishes for your DGS:thumbsup2 What have I missed? Is it you or DH that need to go to hospital? Re: the eating out. DS#2 would always want to go to the hospital to eat lunch when we would go galavanting, before he started school. He actually still likes to eat there:lmao: :rotfl2:

Pooh, I am thinking of getting a new thingie, power cord just so I do not have to drag mine from room to room. With the high cost of energy I have been using my laptop more cause my desktop is on the other side of the house. Hope your thingie comes in soon!!!

Bonz, I would not even be thinking of going to Florida if it were my husband who were sick. Morals are such an inconvenience. Nope, I am just having more tests. They are thinking Barrett's esophagus but I have a feeling they will find more. I would prefer they find the worst in my heart as it is so much easier to fix. If it is what is suspected it sure will help out with my dieting though. :) One night, around the pool, when you want to hear a scary story I shall tell you how all this came to pass. No one, not my children, knows here. My husband does. He is looking forward to tomorrow because he will get to eat out. TG for my dbil. :worship:
