Once you have shingles, you HAVE them. They might not be active or flaring up, but the virus exists in your body. That's what my friend told me and she was in nursing school at the time.

I had posted on another board and was invited to come here and introduce myself. So, here goes:

I'll be at Pop from 9/10-9/14 and would love to meet some of you. Are there any "official" meets planned? My name is Julie and this will be my 4th trip to Disney World this year. Yes, I'm addicted and I'm trying to get the most out of my AP. This trip is myself and a friend, but he's not a huge Disney fan, so I'll be going to a couple parks as a solo.

Nope, you're not off the hook We come home on the 14th. Arrive on the 4th, but now have a dilemma. Airtran has changed flight we are now scheduled to leave at 6:55 am . We done the early flight b4, not fun. Anyway, they said since they have changed flight I could have the option of leaving out of Chicago at 7:30 on the 3rd. We would arrive around 11pm. I am going to call WDW & see if we can get a day added. I really think I'd rather do the late flight, I at least wouldn't have to get 2 kids up & ready at 4am. See you soon!

I’ve been pondering the finer points of booking an earlier flight down to MCO Right this minute, we could fly DOWN on Southwest for $69 each, leaving at 9:15AM. We could fly on Airtran leaving at 11:15am (nonstop) for $99 each, leaving at 4:15 & arriving at 8:15 for $99. I’ll just quote DD when she’s disappointed… “Oh pickles!”
The 4:15 flight would rock because Evie could almost completely finish the day at school. However, I’d pay another $200 out of pocket to arrive 1 hour earlier and add a layover for my trouble. At least the 9:15am flight is non-stop. Sigh….

Why can't I talk Kevin into letting her miss just one little, tiny extra day off school?

I am sorry your friend does not like DW much. Next time you get a hankering to go just let me know and you can pick me up off 65 near the Edinburg/Columbus exit or Seymour. I am easy to get along with.

Mom2Evie, what kind of grades did your nurse friend get? Just kidding, I know that the virus stays round lurking and looking for an opportunity. My dd freaks out at the word herpes as it is what all those things are, just not THAT kind. Does your daughter do well in school? If so a day would not hurt but if not your husband is to be applauded for being willing to spend the bucks although I know it punishes all of you. My oldest grandson is allowed to skip school pretty much all the time. He is 17 and in the tenth grade and he flunked, to my horror, English last year. I even offered to cheat and tell him the stories of the books he was to read but he could not even put himself out enough to get me a copy of the books. I hope it works out for you all somehow. Is it possible to get some extra credit work that she could do on the plane and maybe even a bit on vacation?

I think that was me!! Welcome, welcome. We'll all be at Pop about the same time. Some of the ladies have official meets scheduled before you & I arrive on the 10th. You ought to be able to find us in the evenings around the pool. Ladies, do we have any decorations this year? I know last year I just looked for the blown up monkey!!!

One of our divas is from Houston (Katy)...the rest of us are from San Antonio (Schertz)...most of us have boys too! We ordered groovy rhinestone Disney Diva iron ons from Just Add Bling on ebay! We will be there Sept. 8-13.

She live just outside of San Antonio in a community called Canyon Lake. Have you ever heard of it? I thought she was going to do a little dance with AirTran started offer service out of SAT and had service to Orlando.

Of course! I actually live in Schertz (north of San Antonio....@1/2 way between San Antonio and Canyon Lake!) Took my DS to cub scout day camp @Canyon Lake!

tiggerx3 does that mean since I've never had chicken pox that I can't/won't get shingles cause I don't have the virus in me?
(BTW where in PA are you from? I am originally from Pittsburgh.)
Has anybody ever heard of taking their kids to a chicken pox party so their kid will be exposed to the virus???

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you never had Chicken Pox, you would not get shingles.

Ladies, I just got an email from Destinations and they are offering rooms @ $54 for this Fall. That is about the best price I have seen for that time of the year. Wonder what November will bring? I will not be able to take advantage of such a great deal but I will not be able to stop thinking about it either.

I will post either tomorrow night, if I am up to it, or Friday.

Wow, that is close! I live on the southside of Indy, barely in Marion County, really. I was really surprised that my friend agreed to go with me again. He's in it for the free food this time!

I'll keep my eyes open for the inflatable monkey? and you ladies around the pool in the evenings. I'll have a LGMH on my bag, too.

Really looking forward to it! I just figured out that I've only got 17 days of work before we go!
