Bonz, as with all grandmas I have a magic couch. It has cured many a sick child. I have read where high temps in children is not as dangerous as with an adult but it sure does scare this adult when a child is that hot and hurting. May yours improve rapidly and give you both a good restful night tonight.

Pooh, one common thread I keep finding with DISers is their inability to say no to any creatures needs. Trouble is there is just soooo much need and so few people to fill it.

cherylp3, welcome and btw, I resent that 'corny' reference. I am far more silly than that. Jump on in, there is so much hot air around here that you do not need fear falling far.

Wic, I just read an article in praise of pit bulls. I tend to agree that man corrupts animals rather than the other way around. My dad used to beat and starve his dogs to make them meaner when they went hunting. He was worse with children.

crzykid, yikes!!! Set an animal on any other living creature on fire? These are very disturbed people who feel powerless and NEED to exert their CONTROL over somethign else and have to resort to harming the innocent cause they are not 'man' enough to fight someone their own size. Lucky dog.

Mom2Evie, gas is at $3.99 here right now. I have decided to think about the earthquakes and other disasters happening right now and feel downright lucky.

Today is my birthday!! Party with me, girls! This morning, my DD gave me a lovely necklace & earring set that she picked out herself. It's a few rows of wire with brown & umber glass beads spaced out. The matching dangling earrings are straight & LONG and not necessarily what I would have picked for myself. However, I was already dressed & the jewlery perfectly matched my outfit. So, I wore the set today. DD was thrilled. Best part, my birthday card had Mickey Mouse on it. I could see him the second I opened the envelope & told her, "You know he's my favorite, right?" She gave me the BIGGEST grin.
Hubby gave me a gift card and added the joking comment that it didn't matter how much he put on it, I was going to spend what I was going to spend. He's right, so I didn't argue. We'll have a birthday party with my friends this weekend, but have no plans for tonight.

Hopefully you've been able to read some of the thread so you have a good idea of who all the "players" are here. Will you be at Pop this September or just the ToT meet? I think you'll be able to find some of us out at the Petal Pool at Pop most nights from last August until mid-September.

Linda, don't remember which tread, but thanks for the transportation offer. We will have a car, I won't go w/o one again. The one time I did, one of the kids got sick late in the night Short of calling 911, I had no means to get him any meds. I learned my lesson the hard way, next am I had a car

Okay we have changed our minds as to our honeymoon we are now booking to the Dreams Punta Cana Resort and Spa for 7nights instead. We are staying in a room that has a swim out pool and its All INCl. so it should be nice and I can go Ziplinning through the tree tops (what else like a monkey) LOL!!

thanks we were going to do a cruise but i just got an email from apple vacations and had this resort & spa and Mike liked it alot so we looked into more and I think we are going to book it.
