Mojito Monkey Mama's 2 cont'd

Rei,
Well when I emailed the principal yesterday he said it would only go in his permenant file till he leaves for high school and then it is removed. Probably because he knows I am the parent who will go before the board and to the superintendant of superintendants and the state board of education to file complaints if need be, so he is going to make sure I know fighting it isn't worth my time. Our rule book is very vague and says unless a child says nothing and does nothing and tries to get away from someone fighting them it is considered self defense which is considered participating in a fight so they can be held responsible as well. I never knew self defense was not allowed or that saying somthing was self defense and IMO that is pretty sad because self defense is the only thing a victim has when they are attacked. I would think being taught to stuff your anger in a bad situation would hurt the victim mentally a lot more than the bully. Now I wonder if that is why there are so many wacked young people who hurt themselves and others when they have so much respressed anger that eventually comes out all at once.

Oh yeah the superintendant is our principals neighbor and drinking buddy so nothing will be done by the superintendant so it would have to go furthur. Its all about who you know in our town. Sadly, our Middle school has had the reputation for over 20 years as being known as a waste of 3 years and lots of tax payer dollars. I agreed with that statement the first month DS was in 6th grade. I have to say thank goodness for the excellent grade school teachers he has and the one excellent teacher he has been lucky to have the last two years in Middle School or he would be learning nothing except how to be a punching bag.

Thanks for the info,
Angela

Call the state in and let them know the situtation and let these buttheads know that you will not stand by and let this be a part of your sons Permnant record because they will not take it out of his file believe me I went through this with my son and they didn't take it out of his file even though they said they would so Don't believe them at all!! GET everything in Writing that they are saying to you!!! PLEASE!

We are just worried about you and your DS.

I disagree. If this is a small town with small town politics, calling in he state will only make things worse. I think at this point she should focus on protecting her son from this other boy and how the school is going to INSURE HIS SAFETY. The school is now on the hook to make sure this doesn't happen again. I'd email the principal again and let him know that while you aren't happy with the choice of discipline, that you accept and respect his decision. Then immediately follow up with, "Let's meet to come up with a plan to...." Tell the principal all your concerns about this boy & how its done on for a while now. Tell him that you know the school doesn't tolerate bullying and ask him to tell you how he's going to stop it. You could even request that this boys parents be there if you want.

TImmy.... :grouphug:  :grouphug:  Tell Dad, get better soon

FF.....pick out something in that category and give me a call or link it thru the group..I cant email from there for some reason..some technical thing that I dont have time to fuss with...pssshhaaw

SG....no prob I will find you something else to do. Willing to print stuff?

Angwill....:grouphug: Now ya see why I want to homeschool.? Wish we could afford the private one near here. Dont you love small town mentallity?

MomtoEvie........ you only wish you were good like me:lmao:

Poohbear.....how did the photog meeting go last nite. We may be going to GC tomorrow. Depends on the weather. I dont want to walk around there in the rain.

The SO is driving me nuts about this other job thing. I still say we cant afford it and he keeps going on about the commision. I cant make him understand you SIMPLY just DO NOT count that into consideration. At least the guy upped the pay rate by a buck.
Currently (b4 taxes) he is making $10.22 an hour 37-40 hours a week --job only 2 miles away roundtrip...asst manager job in a national company
The other place offered him $9.50 (now 10.50-not definate) an hour average 42 hours a week(48 hours every other week/alternate Saturdays) ---job 41 miles roundtrip..underling job with a private owned business (one of a kind)
HELP! Opinions???. BTW...those really are pretty good wages for this area

NOW Totally off topic...Besides prune juice, what is the best home remedy for a child with constipation? I gave her some warm tea/milk with loads of honey. About the only thing I have in the house that she will eat without argument. Most of the info I found online said honey or corn syrup or similar in a warm liquid so hopefully that helps.

Photog went well we have one more that we have an appt with but not until next week but I really love this guy and have since I met him at a bridal show awhile ago and surprise surprise surprise so DOES MIKE!:thumbsup2 but to be fair we have to give this other person a chance and then we will make are minds up!!

We have to go see our Cake person tonight !!!

Prune juice could take a couple of days to work. The warm liquid would work quickly because it creates the sensation that she needs to go. It doesn't soften anything up. Have you considered using a glyserin suppository? I used them for Evie a few years ago and they worked like a charm. How old is she? Is it possible that she's constipated because she's holding it in? A friend of mine now gives her son a prescription every day to keep his stools soft because he ws holding it until he became constipated & it then hurt... making him want to hold it more. He 5 or 6 years old, I think.

Ah that is why it was suggested on so many sites. SIGH..If I have to. She is 5. She is not holding it in. She is trying but just cant. Poor baby sat on the pot for 45 minutes last nite. She went a bit yesterday afternoon with some trouble. She never had trouble before so not real worried but I want to use the potty too. :rotfl: Boy do I miss the other house with 2 baths. :lmao: Bad enuf her dad thinks the bathroom is a library. Dude, Why on earth do you need to have 3 novels in there at once? I toss them out in the hall and down the steps (straight shot from the bathroom door) HEHEHE! Or I hide them or I have the brat go pick a random shelf to put them on (we have 4 -6 foot tall bookshelves full) I am so evil.:rolleyes1

The glycerin suppositories work almost immediately. They soften everything up and BAM! She's going again & it doesn't hurt.

Nancy - Do you have a florist yet??? :cool1:

If not, I can give you an excellent reference. I really hope that you and Mike can make it over to our house for the Memorial Sunday picnic. I haven't been able to send you a PM, but I wanted to make sure that you knew that the picnic is on and that you and Mike most definitely invited.

Privately owned companies can be a good or a bad thing. I've worked at one for years, but I was laid off without a moments notice when the owner's business took a downturn. They're great with flexibility and perks such as buying lunch, but lousy with payraises.

Apple cider? That stuff never agrees with my son. :rolleyes1

Angwill, I can't believe those sort of rules. Obviously you're not allowed to defend yourself against bullies at all. Just running away doesn't always solve the problem. I've noticed the same thing in my son's school, sometimes the rules make absolutely no sense.

Ang, our world is sorely lacking in good old fashioned 'common sense'. I remember when teachers had to be above reproach and they no longer seem to be. We have one teacher here who is married to one of his former students, she was one of many he 'dated' years ago. Right now they are embroiled in a scandal because both of them were caught cheating with others, big surprise, but no one mentions it. Need I mention that he teaches in the sports area? :worship:
You have a lot of good advice here and I hope it all gets worked out. If more parents stood up and fought for their kids things would soon be different.

Timmie, it sounds as if many serious things have been ruled out so that is good but what a relief when they find out exactly what is wrong and can then go to work in fixing your dear dad all up.

Pooh, if you are free after 8 what do you charge the rest of the time? Just wondering.

mickeyvixie, it is not just a money thing but the fact that he will have less family time and that is priceless and something he can never get back. Wear and tear and repairs to his vehicle will add up as well. Folks can generally talk themselves into most anything they want to do though. :upsidedow I sure hope your little one gets her plumbing all fixed. It is miserable for all involved.

FF, I will do printing if that is what is needed. I also kept the 6th relatively free to help out with set up and such. I move slowly though.

BTW, I tend to bring extra fabric softener and detergent if anyone wants to do laundry. I am very popular around the Wash House. :thumbsup2

I got the electrical work all done. The guy who showed up looked at me and said "The Reading Lady"! Turns out he is the father of one of my big success stories. I had 4 new plugs put in, one for the fancy new TV that I am planning on getting one of these days, and had the new light fixture put up in the DR. Looks really nice, I think. Simple and elegant, just like me. Okay, I have the first part down and will work on the later. :rotfl2:

Just read a new thread about boys "trying" to make a fire by rubbing wet wood chips together and the OP's son getting in trouble for watching them and not telling a teacher. Yeah like that is gonna actuallly make a fire. At least the kid had sense enuf to know it wouldnt.:sad2:

Oh too funny. I hear she is very "cheap":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good point cause one of his arguments is that he never sees the brat. Soooo....leaving at 8:30 AM before she is up for the day and returning around 6PM is gonna make it better. At least now she gets to see him on lunch and we can walk there in 15 minutes if she really needs to see him during work (there is a Goodwill next door--that is my excuse:laughing: )
He was complaining that the car may not make it down to FL cause of that reason yet he wants to put close to a 1,000 miles on it a month instead of 60 some. My mom said just let him go ahead and take it...UMM...no we are not going to starve just to teach him a lesson not to mention the bridges he is burning by leaving.
She went once, just gonna take timeto get the system readjusted:rotfl2:

Pooh showed up a day after the official picnic due to a misunderstanding. I have always referred to our DISboards picnic as a Memorial Day picnic, but it has always been held on the Sunday BEFORE Memorial Day. I hadn't made this clear and I caught Pooh in my trap. She and Mike were able to come by on Monday, so we just had another picnic. I got to spend a lot more one-on-one time with them as I didn't have a bunch of other people to cook for.

The picnic is an annual event held at our home in NE Ohio. It all started years ago when PerfectMatch300 sent out a request for someone to join them at Geauga Lake amusement park for Memorial Day weekend. Instead we decided to invite them over (along with 50,000 or so DISers). We've had the picnic every year since (with one year off when my son graduated from high school a couple of years ago). PerfectMatch300 and her DH have since relocated to the Orlando area, so they haven't been able to make it back north since the move. Who can blame them?

The invite for the picnic is over on the DISmeets Board. Everyone is invited. Drop me a PM for instructions to our home. The more the merrier.

If I don't call tonight, I promise to call sometime this weekend.
