Mom2Evie, my daughter went through nearly the same thing, only much, much worse, at her last job and they made her last days totally miserable. If they did not know they were going to miss you they would not be so awful, they would be glad you were going. Just hang in there and a year from now you will see that you did the best possible thing. Work takes far too much of our time not to do things that we like and be in a good environment. Naturally the new folks loved, loved, loved YOU!! DIS folks are always loveable.
Pooh, I am so glad that you might be getting to go down, even for a few days. I talked to my bil the other day and he said he would take care of Tom so that I could get away to celebrate my birthday. Now to figure out what to do. I have not been anywhere by myself in over 36 years and have a limited budget so I am in a bit of a quandry. Still thinking a bus trip would be nice. Free Dining at DW would be fab but Tom would explode at the thought of me being there and him not. Decisions, decisions.
You know how I am always telling you how much work I am doing each day? Well, today I am having lunch at a swank place with a new friend. With my schedule it is a miracle and has taken several months to find the time to do it in. They used to have Butternut Squash Soup on the menu there but it is no longer to be found. Maybe they have some in the back if I ask???

If only all my close by DIS friends were not married, with children, I might convince one or more of them to 'come with'. I am very good when I am taking care of others, not so good at taking care of meself. Hey, I may be nuts but at least I am not an axe murderer. 
Mom2Evie, I would love your easy recipe as all mine are complicated. I fear I would be able to tell the difference though as it is WGP's version that I adore. I have tried all the versions at DW and while I like some of them I can tell the difference. It has replaced Mickey Bars in my affections.
Pooh, how I would love to be at your Bachlorette party. I have never been to one but I would imagine that YOURS would be the ultimate. I fear it is far more complicated than just giving my husband a raspberry and taking off. Not all is his fault, some is my own mental problems. Even though I am the one who does all the planning, packing and driving I have never driven very far alone. Granted driving alone is probably safer than driving with someone who has been known to shift the car into another gear while I am driving down the interstate or scream suddenly and if car trouble does happen you have to watch that he does not walk out into traffic I am still scared into a case of very bad constipation.
Much work to do today to make up for my very nice day yesterday. The restaurant was lovely and the company interesting. I was taken with some 'artwork' on the walls and upon inspection discovered that it was made up of brass fence post caps on top of grating and with some odd bits of wood scattered about. It looked good though. It takes talent to imagine such things. Since I am a hardware junkie I appreciated the whimsy of the thing. What can you expect out of a town that has two giant hambones outside its main library?

I am afraid that I have to root for Cummins as it is where all good things flow for us. Also our daughter is now a big wig there. Watch out Caterpillar ! Think I could get two rooms for our trip and get a room for Tom in a different resort? Come to think of it he might enjoy that too. 
What might the exact date of your proposed party be? 
I never count me out cause one year, a couple of years ago, I was very, very sick and had given up all hope of a DW trip when I got some very good meds and found myself feeling well. One night I saw the DW Christmas video on the TV and was so excited that I jumped out of bed bright and early and not only found that I could get rooms, just before Xmas BUT also got a great code. If it is meant to be, it is meant to be. Our AP's die on 09/09 I think though. Hope is what keeps me going, most days.
Ang, I am so sorry that it is so complicated taking care of the aftermath of the accident. It just plumbs wears one out sorting through the system. I hope it gets concluded soon and with good results so that you can focus on what is important, US!!!
Pooh, I would not ask you to babysit me, nor ask anyone else. I could not even get to the airport and that is why I drive. By the time I make it to Indpls I am already in Nashville and I sort of like driving down the interstate at break neck speeds, it is the getting on and off the ramps that scares the daylights out of me. I am blind in the left eye. I am just plain a mess.
I am hunting to buy a cheap, basic Dell computer for a dear friend of mine, if anyone should run across such a deal I would surely appreciate a head's up. It is not that she is not worth big bucks but she is older and basically just wants to email and I do not want to invest in an expensive system just in case she does not do even that much. I have not won the lottery lately and have to be a bit careful. Thanks.
