I'm planning to leave Friday after work - hopefully I'll get off work an hour or two early to avoid rush hour leaving Palm Beach...and hoping Hanna doesn't drift over my way and close down my path!

Packing? What's that? It's nice being close...my packing involves tossing some shirts and shorts in a large duffel, throwing it in the back of my car with a cooler full of drinks, loose shoes, umbrella, and any other random thing I think of. My wagon's trunk is my luggage! I usually pack in the final hour or two before I head off...in this case though, I'll be leaving right from my office so I'll have to load the car Thu night or Fri morning. Three more days of work...3 more days from right about now, I'll be sitting on the patio deck at Rainforest in Marketplace watching the sunset over an appetizer and a sweet tea.

How lucky for you not to have to worry about fitting things into your luggage and how much plane fare is!!! How long is your drive?

Normally my drive is between 2 1/2 hours and 3 hours...it's about 180 miles, and the highway part is a breeze; getting from Turnpike to Disney property adds anywhere from 30-45 minutes to the total.

In Friday's case, I may be a little longer - probably in the vicinity of 3 1/2 hours, mainly because I'll be heading up around the beginning of rush hour, and ending just after with Friday night traffic around dinner-time 6-7pm. And that's if our friend Hanna leaves me alone - she could add even more time to the trip (though my car's AWD and is quite good in the rain...it's everyone else on the road that slows me down!).

My first priority will be checking in at OKW, then hopping the boat to Marketplace (assuming there's no hurricane and it's running!) so I can have dinner on the patio at Rainforest (it's a traditional first night meal now for many years). I'll be solo, so it'll be quiet - feel free to stop by if you've got nothing else to do. I'll try to remember to give a ring when I get settled up there.

Got the boys done but they were easy. I am one of those people who think you have to have new clothes for vac so just had to put their stuff in the bags. I feel so rotten & always over packed myself anyway it may just be a good thing.

Have a huge busy day today, tonight have an appt. with our dj and then laundry and repack and finish cleaning the house and getting ready for the wedding. GOD DO I NEED THIS VACATION!!
