Hello to all –

Started reading a thread where others discussed some challenges about reading trip reports. Hopefully there can be some future options in making these easier to read.

First of all, I absolutely love trip reports. The more detailed…the better. They take me back to places we’ve been and describe those I look forward to seeing myself – some day. I paste/copy my favorites into a word document and print them out for future use. Have 3 large binders absolutely full of reports.
There are too many times I’ve started enjoying a report that had numerous threads…only to get disappointed because of missing day/events. Do know that some post additional days within the same post (by replying to their original post). I understand how to search by thread or user name to consolidate posts – but at times…to no avail. Because of the time it takes to write these…I understand why people post a few days at a time. I truly appreciate the time you took to share your experiences with us – having written two ourselves.
Sure would love some discussion – suggestions to assist those that love these reports as much as we all do.

Mods…
Can a new trip report forum be started? This could post the best-of-the-best DCL/WDW completed trip reports.

Much thanks to those who post/reply/moderate/host these boards…we’ve learned sooooo much. Your experiences have enhanced our WDW/DCL vacations – our thanks

I totally agree. Maybe there should be a rule where you have to add to your trip report by replying to your earlier post. It would make reading them alot easier. It is just my opinion. Maybe if we get enough people we can get the moderators to give in. I get so mixed up in the ones that I read from the ones I didnt read so if this can be done it would be a big improvement. I think that everyones trip report are wonderful and that everyone should have a chance to read them without confussion. Again just my opinion. ::MinnieMo :Pinkbounc ::MickeyMo :earboy2:

I just had another idea. Maybe if there is a way where there is a mark next to the post you read. On Passporter.com they highlight the new posts, posts that have been replied to, and the unread ones. That would make it less confusing too. The mark could be a check or a mickey mouse head. They could put it inbetween the little envelopes and the thread titles. This would be nice too. Both ideas would be excellent. Again just my opinion. I hope this gets out to the people that can change it around alittle bit.

Maybe a post could be placed at the top of the forum detailing how to put links at the bottom of a post. I love reading the trip reports that have a link for the next day posted at the bottom! Makes it very easy to read! I probably miss reading a lot of great reports because I don't want to go search for each part.

If the reader clicks the Thread Starter heading at the top of the page, then all the threads by that poster are grouped together. Thus a trip report that has mutliple threads is grouped together.

Peronsally, having to scroll through dozens of replies to find a continuation of a trip is a pain. Especially when one click does it for me.

Sometimes when you do this the whole trip report doesnt come up because if there arent enough replies for a thread then the thread gets pushed to the bottom and it doesn't show up. If you think about it there aren't dozens of replies between the continuationof the trip reports. At the most there are maybe 6 or 7. All you have to do is look at the thread starters name and you can find it.

This is also a great idea. If this could be done it would be great. As I said before the trip reports are great and everyone deserves to read them.
