Mods feel free to move. Modeler/Fabricator looking for work with WDI or at D Land

Hi all, once again mods feel free to move if necessary or to a place that would be more appropriate.

Up until recently I was employed at GM as a modeler/fabricator. Basically I built the 1/4 and full scale models for new cars, trucks, and other forms of transportation. We used clay, steel, foams and various composites in the construction of these models. I am proficient in machine work, cnc milling, welding and decent in clay modeling.

I know WDI very rarely hires direct. They use contract agencies, the question I pose to you is, Does anyone know what agencies WDI or Disney in general use to fill these positions.

With the upcoming DCA refurb and Shanghai Disneyland there is plenty opportunity land a position.

The Walt Disney Company is more or less not hiring at the moment.

In fact, WDI is likely going to be seeing quite a few layoffs in the future, if they haven't already, as they are streamlining their operations and merging their departments together as part of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts's larger organisational restructuring.

However, when they are hiring, they first look to people inside Disney already. A lot of people up there have previously worked in the Parks, either at the DLR or at WDW. They generally tend to go from there and start looking at people outside the company, friends of friends, and whatnot.

Thanks, I know of the whole "bro" system of getting a job I just try not to subscribe to it... May be time to bite the bullet.

YES! I was just going to say this. Right now they don't have anything open for WDI, but just the other day I saw an opening for an architect. Keep checking!

I check it out every few days or so, I am pending employment with another car company... I kinda want to weigh my options... Thanks for the reply's and keep em coming if you have any new info.
