Modifying a Reservation

Hello everyone. I think I know the answer to this question but wanted to double check.

I am about to book our first vacation in a hot minute. We have two direct contracts at Riviera and will be staying there. I want to go ahead and book the villa now even though we won't book airfare quite yet.

We know our arrival date but depending on airfare our return date may be a day earlier. If I book a villa for a full 7 days and then later book airfare to return on the 6th day can I just go in and moidfy the reservation by dropping a day without fear of losing the entire booking?

This would all be done before the 30 day holding policy kicks in so that is not a concern.

Yes, as long as it’s done within 31 days out of the trip, the points will return to you and can be banked (if from current allotment) or used on another reservation

You can modify any reservation to drop days and keep the rest via doing a modification on your device, with one exception: you cannot just drop days in the middle of the reservation, e.g., if you have a 7-day reservation, you could drop the last day or last two days, or the first day or first two days, but you cannot via modification drop two days in the middle of the reservation.

Returned current years points can be banked if you do your modification dropping a day before your banking deadline - eg during the first 8 months of your use year.
