Modifying a Reservation at 7 months with one time use points

Hi! Looking for a tip on one time use points…

Aulani is our home resort and we are planning a trip for September 2024.

We will be booking at the 11 month mark borrowing from our 2025 points. We are still a bit shy of the view we want.

My thought is to book the leingth of stay we want at the view we can afford with points. Then at the 7 month mark buy the one time use points and modify to the ocean view.

my question is can you modify an existing reservation adding in one time use points?

Yes you can. We own at Aulani and had to do this last year when we were short on points.

Since what you would be doing is changing your reservation to a different view, it would be seen as a 7 month booking and you can buy up to the 24 points to do that.
