Modify (downgrade) MYW package before payment deadline?

Our payment is due in a week. We were on a 3-day park ticket (with hopping) and deluxe dining plan. For some reasons we decide to use two-day park tickets only and no hopping is required.

Is it possible to call Disney now to reduce 1-day ticket and cut out hopping? Will the CM give me the revised balance right away? Or should I do it after check-in at resort?

I think you should do it right away. I think after a certain point, (final payment maybe?) you get charged for changing your package - if your changes reduce the overall price. If your changes increase the overall price then they're happy to do it for you

I believe you can always upgrade with no penalties but if you downgrade within 45 days of arrival on a package you get penalized.
