I've just started watching it and am really enjoying it. I am surprised by how many people have told me they enjoy the show because the families are so real. I haven't met a lot of families like the ones in that show.

Our son and his wife have been visiting with their 8 month old daughter, so I really have been enjoying all the stories of the two guys with the baby daughter.

I think its very real but they take one step beyond make it funny.

Last night's episode was so funny, but it also had a lot of heart. I got a little misty when Claire took 3 deep breaths as Haley pulled out of the driveway... also when Cam and Mitchell were so happy when they discovered the doll said "mommy" when squeezed.

I loved when the Dr took out the trash can backing out the driveway- "I didn't see that!"

We love love love this show. Never miss it. Was in tears when they realized that the doll said mommy. So sweet of a moment. Love the show. The one where they take Manny to Disneyland once again. sweet moment. Its well acted and well written.

I got a little misty too! I also thought it was sweet with the boy took three deep breaths before he went under the house. It was a great episode.

I never miss this show! Phil is my favorite - he is so hilariously awkward always trying to be cool for his kids and wife.

I think the thing on Modern Family that made me laugh the hardest was when Cam got upset because that woman said that Mamma Mia was great but that Meryl Streep wasn't the right choice for the role.

another great show. very much along the lines of arrested development, and a show from a few years back on abc called sons and daughters. sons and daughters may have not had as well known actors on the show, but it was just as funny. modern family is cast very well. all the children are great. i hope people don't look past sofia vergara because of her looks. yes, she is very attractive (but i think julie bowen is most attractive woman on that show - towson, md baby!). she does very well as a comedic actress. if anyone watched knights of prosperity, she was funny in that show, too. hope it doesn't meet the same fate as the other two shows.

I agree - I love this show. I have to say, however, that I still pine away for Arrested Development which was at least as funny but never caught on... I miss the Bluths...

Modern Family is a great show. I love how they're all a little "dysfunctional", but every episode ends with the families coming together and showing their love for one another. The endings are always a little sappy, but in a good way.

By the way, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet. I just started listening to the DIS Unplugged podcast a few weeks ago. Am I the only one who thinks that Kevin sounds exactly like Mitchell from Modern Family?

My DH and I have been saying that to each other as well. It was such a subtle comment in, I think, episode 1 but it is such a funny one.
