Well, she may have sold them for money (for her friend's situation) since she claimed her friend didn't like them which I can understand, but still...

What she may have done is not new... I am a member of other boards where members have done the same thing.

We also had a lady on Craigslist who asked for baby clothes because she claimed she was saving it for a teen mom. Lo and behold the people donating saw their things on ebay.

That may be true. And I think it was the other thread where I offered that as being a possiblity. But when someone says "but you're selling them on ebay" then come back and say "she didn't care for them and we knew we could make about $15 on them and that would go a long way at a garage sale." Instead she just said "she doesn't like them" and "she's used to getting what she wants" which makes her "friend" sound very selfish and non-appreciative of gifts.

Just my take on it. If the story is true, then Tigger113 has done a less than stellar job of communicating with us and keeping us updated on why things are being done.

She only considers them personal attacks, IMHO, b/c she has no truthful answer to the questions. If the story were 100% on the up and up, she should communicate with us.

The fact that she got defensive is another red flag for me.

I was thinking what if the OP is her friend? You know she needed help but was afraid to ask for herself so created the friend---I can't say about the items on ebay now but I know for myself when times were tight I would sell things for the money to buy other things!
Like now I am thinking about starting to sell stuff on ebay (I am so lost though) to help fund our next trip to WDW! Nothing wrong with that!
I think if this is what the OP was doing she should just say "hey this is what is up" and clear the air and her name so she can once again feel comfortable coming here and sharing the Dis community!

I agree that she should come back and explain herself. (If she is the one that is pregnant then she doesn't need to be afraid to say that). Instead, she asks for the threads to be deleted.

It is strange that she has four baby items for sale. They seem to be similar to what she received from the DIS. If I were in the "friends" situation I wouldn't be so picky.

:guilty: Well.. my friend just found out this morning that she is getting a divorce :guilty: and she is pregnant with triplets (2 girls and a boy) and she has 2 older girls (4 and 6). So I thought I need to help her as much as I can.
As for what she needs... a little of everything.
Blessings

I have stuff to trade so if you are looking for something in particular let me know....
Tell him to be a man. Pack up and move out,no need to try and take parting shots. Children need to be with their mother more at that age(providing she is a fit mother). Divorce is never easy and the more they fight about material things, the harder it is. They are both going to need every ounce of energy to care for their 5 children. He needs to just cut his losses and move on.They will both be better for it.

I hate to think badly of people, but I am thinking that this is a scam.
She seems like a liar because instead of sticking up for herself, she has taken off. :sad2:

One more thing...I saw the outfits on ebay. They are adorable! I don't know how anyone is a desperate situtation could turn down free clean, new, nice clothes. :confused3

This is getting interesting! What's the old phrase...Beggers can't be choosers.
If her "friend" is in such need of things for her to ask us DIS people...what's she doing turning down ANY free outfits because "she doesn't like them"?!?! :rolleyes2
Yet...the things sent to the OP now turn up on Ebay?

Does it smell fishy in here or is it just me?
Glad to know it's not just me!

I wonder how much longer this thread will be open?

Does anyone have the links to the ebay stuff?

Notice she says in the auction that the outfit would make a perfect gift for a friend? :sad2:

typing fast, in case thread gets closed....

To all the DISers who do donate occasionally when situations are posted on the DIS, I truly hope that you continue to be as generous in the future. Your big hearts are appreciated, even if you might get scammed here and there. Choose your causes carefully, and continue to be as gold-hearted as you have been.

There are quite a few very kind, generous souls on the DISboards and I would hate to see such an admirable quality be quaffed.

Very true.

Reminds me of the story of the couple who faked having a huge multiple birth to get free stuff. People are sick!

That is so true. I hate that nowdays we even have to question when someone asks for help.

Somehow I missed that she's also selling a pack of pooh bibs and a pack of Pooh onesies. I can't imagine being so picky that you wouldn't take bibs or onesies brand new in the package.

I was suspicious from the beginning esp when she asked for coupons to trade. In her ebay feedback it mentions coupons that were sold.

Yes. If you look at her auctions and then check "completed auctions" it'll show the coupons she's sold.

I also notice she's the first to pipe up when someone is giving something away. For instance....a post about "Enfamil coupons up for grabs" and she's first to post a "PM'd you."

Which, b/c she's not here to answer to these questions, I can only assume she's turning around and selling. Again, taking the goodness of fellow DISers and turning it into a profit, it seems.
