Hi All,

Need some advice on which mod to choose for my upcoming trip 11/28-12/4. I was waiting for the free dining to be announced and the day has finally come!! :cool1:

It will be myself and my boyfriend. I am used to staying at a deluxe. My favorite is the WL with the BC coming in a close second. I just can't justify the cost this time around and I will be upgrading to the DxDDP because my BF loves appetizers and this will be his first trip to the World in about 15 years and I want him to love it as much as I do!

So with that said...which moderate would you choose for 2 30somethings? At risk of sounding like a baby...I just don't want to be disappointed in whatever I choose because I haven't stayed in a moderate in over 10 years.

Thanks in advance!!

I would just stay deluxe and really give him a great trip. AKL is deluxe but usually a little cheaper than BC or WL. I only stay at BC/YC b/c stormalong cannot be beat and the location

If you decide to go with a moderate, POR and POFQ are great choices with the lush greenery, carriage rides, etc. We love them both.

Port Orleans Riverside was very nice for us.

Although honestly, check out the resort pictures to see which style/theme looks best to you.

As an aside, look at the details of what you're getting with DxDP, you may be better off just buying the appetizers out of pocket instead of jumping up to the 'That's a lot of food' DxDP :).

I would choose CSR or PO-FQ... I think these would be the best for a couple.

If you are really that worried that you will be disappointed by your choice of a moderate, then nothing that any of us can say will make any difference. Resort preference is a very individual and personal opinion that varies from person to person. I may just adore one resort, while the next person absolutely hates it. KWIM? I agree with the PP who recommended that you spend some time on the resort specific threads looking at all the photos. Make your decision based on which resort appeals most to your own esthetic.

ETA: and I also agree with the other PP who recommended that you re-examine your decision on the DXDP. In light of the recent price increase for this plan, you may find it much more economical to just go with the DDP and pay OOP for any appys that you may want.

Thank you all for responding. I'm not sure disappointed is the correct word. I just don't know enough about moderates...

I know it is a lot of food, but I feel that for us it is the best choice. It offers flexibility for us to eat anywhere anytime and we plan on doing a lot of Signature Restaurants as BF enjoys good food and that is the only part of the trip I can get him excited about so far.

I think CSR is the most "deluxe like" moderate

POR and POFQ are both so nice too..small and quaint so between those 3 I don't think you can really go wrong! Have a great trip

My wife and I are late twenties/early thirties and I can honestly say that I enjoyed CSR more than our stay at the deluxe resorts (which only include AKL and Dolphin).

I think CSR feels a tad more deluxe than the other mods and we have stayed at them all. POFQ is quaint and has the boat to DTD, but there's something about the common areas of CSR that feel a little more upscale to us.

Just booked CSR!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I think you will really enjoy it. DH and I are both in our 50's (okay...he's closer to 60), and we have stayed at the CSR nine times, both with and without our boys. We find it a little more "upscale" and it does have the Rix Lounge which has a DJ on the weekends and no kids are allowed after 9 p.m., I believe. It's a beautiful resort; we'll actually arrive just a couple of days after you. We've been renting points and staying DVC the last two trips, but I'm surprising hubby with a 60th birthday trip and we are going "home" to CSR for this special occasion (we celebrated both of our 50th birthdays and our 25 year anniversary there).

If you are deluxe minded CSR is the closest mod on property to a deluxe. Central air, spa, nightclub, probably the best travel to parks situation aft EPCOT and monorail resorts.... I'd probably go prefferred room.

Edit: I just read you picked CSR! Great minds think alike!
