Planning another trip to Disney next year. Have stayed at POR and was wondering what your favorite moderate is and why. If there is a moderate you don't care for, please let me know that too. Thanks.

We LOVE POFQ:jester: It is the smallest and most managable of the moderates. It's quiet, comfortable, and can be both romantic and a great deal of fun all at the same time.
We have stayed there twice, and would not hesitate to go back there.

We also enjoyed the CBR.:sunny: Although, huge in size, we requested a room and were granted our request, in the Jamaica section. It was a short walk to the main section with the food court etc. but far enough away not to be noisy. We also had great bus access from that location.

Hated the POR- just wasn't our "thing" stayed in the Aligator section, were fairly close to the main section of the hotel and bus stop, but just wasn't as nice as POFQ or CBR... We actually made the walk from RS to FQ just to visit or favorite mod.

Have not stayed a CSR... I don't think I would be wild about seeing conventioners having to work and missing out on the mouse... I'd feel sorry for them the whole time.

Definetly POFQ;)

Loved it! It's so cute and compac ~ no more than a 5min walk max even if you're staying in the most far buildng's. Bus service is excellent! FQ is first to be picked up before heading over to POR and then out to the parks so you almost always get a seat and also first to be dropped off coming back from the parks ~ great after a long day in the parks if you're tired. You can use both pools and ammenities at FQ and POR as they are sister resorts , great boat ride to DTD and decent food court.

Like POR as well but it is more spread out.

Cannot comment on CSR as we've never stayed there.

Hated CBR:crazy2:
Way too spread out, too small main pool with the hot tub in the middle right by the waterslide so there were too many kids jumping in it, the rooms were in awful shape and the food court set up was terrible. That being said though, our visit was in 2001 and CBR has been referbished since so it may be better now. We just have absolutely NO desire to go back after our visit. Lots of people love it there ~ but you asked for good and bad opinions.:confused3

Anyway, my first vote would definetly be for FQ;) ::yes::

We've stayed several times at POFQ, POR, & CSR. We love POR the best! It's just so peaceful & relaxing to come home to after a long day at the parks. The lush landscaping and little animals roaming freely about add to the laid back atmosphere. We prefer the food court @ POR over POFQ's & CSR's, & love the rustic theme of the alligator bayou rooms. It's just our personal preference. :D

CBR because the quiet pools were so....quiet. Never had to deal with crowds while staying there.

The Ole DIXIE LANDINGS... and the Mansions (Oak Manor) are my quinnessential favorites of this moderate resort! It's so well-planned, and spread~out, it never FEELS crowded (even when it is). ::yes::

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

are our favorites, and since you have stayed at POR, then I would try CSR. I think each time they build a moderate they do it better, I can't think of any negatives at CSR.

POFQ - we have not stayed, but have toured and eaten. Seems a nice quiet place to be. Good for adults or very small children, but for us it was too quiet and the kids were not interested in the pool or atmosphere. The advantage though is shared amenities with POR.

CBR - have stayed and not going back.

Coronado is my favorite moderate. It's a beautifully themed resort with an almost deluxe feel. The pool is spectacular and they have a great full-service restaurant, Maya Grille (although they've changed the menu a bit which has made me bitter!).

POFQ also. I think the size has alot to do with it. We enjoyed the food court. We liked the pool. It was nice that the laundry was by the hot tub, relaxed while we washed. Parking is better than the others, we always found a close spot.

Hands down!! - POFQ!! The size of the resort makes for all locations to be close to everything!! And it's so beautiful and peaceful.

We just got back from CBR. It is beautiful, and the kids loved playing on the beach. We were in Jamaica, close to bus stops, quick walk to the food court, but did not like the main pool as much as the pool at POFQ. If we couldn't get POFQ, I would be content with CBR, but will always try for POFQ first.

We've walked through POR - doesn't really do anything for me.

Haven't seen CSR - but would be open to trying it. For some reason though, it doesn't come across as being as peaceful as POFQ and CBR were.

I've stayed at all of the moderates and POFQ is my favorite. I'm staying at POR this weekend though and that's my second favorite. I like POFQ for the reasons others have mentioned. It's quiet and romantic (just got married and no kids yet). I like that it's small and you can take a boat to Downtown Disney. I really love the atmosphere. The mansions are pretty at POR and I love the magnolia trees and the bunnies.

CSR and CBR are both nice too. I like that CBR is close to Epcot (my favorite park). The bad thing about CSR is that it's far from everything. I try not to stay at CBR just because I live in South Florida and want something different than a beachy atmosphere. The last time I stayed at CSR the rooms weren't clean and it was really noisy, but the time before that everything was fine. I'm not crazy about the food court at CSR, especially since it's more expensive and not worth it (they bring food to your table but it's not sit down).

POFQ hands down. Nice and compact. Defintely gets my vote when it only takes 15 seconds to walk to the food court and the pool is across from our room.

We've tried all 4...

1. Coronado
2. Port Orleans FQ (was Port Orleans)
3. Caribbean
4. Port Orleans Riverside (was Dixie Landings)

I liked the theming and convenience of POFQ, but they did away with the great Bonfamille's restaurant a while back, so all they have now is a food court. Last time we were there it had lost some of the magic. Haven't seen it since the refurb so I'm sure it's in much better shape now. It was cool being able to take the boat to Downtown Disney and the pool with the dragon slide is great. One negative was having to share buses with POR, but you are the first ones on and first ones off.

CSR has a fantastic pyramid pool and large playground for kids. Nice restaurant and clean food court with varied choices, and the buses were never crowded and we never waited long for them. It's pretty spread out but the views of the lake and pool are great.

I didn't like much about POR at all...it just seemed louder, more crowded and un-Disney-like. The food court was a mess and the fact that somebody beat on our door at 4 in the morning waking up both us and the baby didn't add to the fun. We spent one night there and it was one night too many.

We love CBR......relaxed atmosphere and of course when I go to FLA I want palm trees and tropics!!

Liked Dixie landings (PO Riverside) but missed the palm trees!
Really nice thing at DL/POR is the boat you can take to Downtown disney........and if you rent a boat you also travel down the canal , we went all the way to DTD and back!

DL, that's the only way I know it as. When they first opened that was the first time I had stayed in the park, $70.00 a night, no codes nothing, that was the rate, that hotel has some nice memories for me. I wish they didn't change the name, I know it is only a name but it will always be Dixie Landings to me :D

Just got back last night and I would have to say POFQ!!! I have stayed at CBR (its been a while ago now) but thought it was way too spread out. Took a walk around POR and from what I saw from the buses and even though that was the resort I was really wanting to stay in I am glad we were at POFQ - just much smaller and seemed less crowded. Had an awesome room close to the front desk, gift shop, food court, pool, river and bus stop.

My sister and neice (who went with me this trip) had just stayed at CSR in August and although they liked it they thought POFQ was better mainly due to size.

Riverside as it was dxl when we started there we first stayed at poyl and was sure this was the best , but because of money we stayed at riverside and flell in love with it we did try cs but since have returned to riverside unless we upgrade we will always stay there. food court is nice , pools nice and cms are friendly all the time. rooms are big enough if need you can sleep 5.
