Moderate Snobs...it's official...

Remember the thread I started "Deluxe Snobs..it's official"? Well, now I have to recant, since I just cancelled my Poly GVC ressie and am now booked at POFQ for $85 a night with code AZZ (code for anyone, Sept only).

I had Poly GVC all set this morning and then I went over my mom's.... She and her DH are also thinking about going and I really want us all to go together, so we decided to go with a moderate with two rooms.

There is an upside to all this... I probably won't have to touch one penny of my vacation fund for this trip. The room is already paid, as I paid 345.65 this morning towards one night at the Poly and my total for three nights at FQ is only 284.00.

Big sigh... I'm just not ready to go into the $300's (even if I "save" a little food and snacks)....

That looks like a great rate, Susy! I will be interested to hear how you liked it when you return.

That's my second choice if I can't get a good rate for WL next January. And with this most recent code released, I see that many people are saying that they couldn't get WL for their dates. So, it may be POFQ for us.

we have stayed at all stars like 5 - 6 times, just 1 time at Movies. well my dream hotel is POLY and my husbands is AKL. well last week i got a decent rate for AKL stand room. now the problem... my dd15 usually brings a friend along, but i told my husband , before i would spend $$$$$on 2 rooms at AKL for us and them, we would go ALONE to POLY........lol. but now i dont know what to do. cause she said she would stay home, but myhusband thinks she should go (which i want her to , cause we always have fun). so if we all go, i might have to give up the AKL and go back to ASM or, i would like CBR with the new code, but ithink i would still need 2 rooms........oh such decisions. what would you guys do.......get 2 rooms or not......?????????thanks alot........oh yeah we are really gone all day, sometimes take a break to swim. but we go most of the day..

This is a great place!

We have styed at both the Poly (garden view concierge) and POFQ. I really would have to say I liked them just the same. POFQ is clean, quiet and the boat to DTD is calm. Plus a heck of a lot cheaper.

I hear ya about the wallet. We just booked for 9/23-28 (2nd time this year) and it would not have been possible except for the value that you get with this resort. Great choice! I love to stay deluxe as much as the next guy, but I just can't justify the difference as far as the benefits for this resort.

Although DH and I always stay at POR, we have been over to POFQ many times and it's beautiful. We are moderate addicts too. Hope you have a great trip.

I can also call myself a moderate snob. Upgraded on Monday from POP to Caribbean Beach. Only about 17.00 more per night using AZZ at CB vs AAA at POP. Its my first stay onsite in 21 years and my DD's first trip.

I would request Jamaica on your ressies. It's the closest to the main area you can get without paying extra (it is also the prettiest section IMO). CBR is very spread out. The rooms are really nice and large, lots of storage. If you don't have hairdryer, iron, and coffeemaker in your room when you arrive, just call up and request it. You do have to take towels to the quiet pools, but not the main pool. There are several bus stops in the resort, so it takes a couple of minutes to actually get going. Have a great time!

Jamiaca is the very section I requested on my ressie. Thinking about building 45 or 46 for the location. Pretty close to parking lot as well as bridge to OPR. Will have a 16 month old along who will like the playground on the beach also.
