Could anyone tell me which moderate hotel has the best pool area for a 8 and 12 year old. They both swim like fishes, enjoy slides but love deep water.

Thanks,

Lory

I liked Port Orleans. I was about 12 when I stayed there and it has the best dragon water slide.

All of the moderates have nice pools. POFQ has one pool that is good size and has a water slide. POR has a main themed pool with a water slide and then there are non-themed private pools throught the resort. Same for CBR and CSR. Many believe that CSR has the best main pool, and they may be right. We have enjoyed all of them.

We stayed at PO French Quarter. Our boys were 6 and 10. The pool was nice, but the slide was "wimpy"...as they would say! I thought they would love the slide, but it was slow and short. They are spoiled with some wild water slides. We all loved the resort!

My son and DH loved the pool at POR as well, they still talk about it.

I agree that POFQ's slide is probably going to be too babyish for 8 and 12 year olds. From a pool only standpoint, a lot of people here like Coronado Springs.

No question - it is CSR. We've stayed at POR and CBR and CSR is far superior. Best hotel slide we've ever seen!

Hands down, the favorite moderate pool of "fish" that like to "slide" would be at the Dig Site at Coronado Springs--- 123 foot slide from the top of the Mayan temple--- just awesome! Second would likely be at Port Orleans Riverside. They would likely feel that the slides at both Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans French Quarter were too "young" or "lame" for them.

CSR is by far the best slide and pool set up of the moderates.

We enjoy POR's pool, but the slide is no comparison in size. But the kids like that is curves and is hidden among the landscape. CBR's slide is extremely lacking and my kids say the POFQ slide is cute but designed for very young kids. Now I guess that really depends on their adventure level more than their actual age ;) HaHa, eeyore0062, I was trying to phrase it well, went to preview and your response came up. I agree with you 100%.

Not sure about your water depths at the pools. Seems to my memory that the "older" end of POR was considerably deeper. The pool is like an L-shape with a bridge over middle. Kids and slide on one side and the other has the falling water and seems to be the older group of swimmers. Maybe someone knows actual depths.

ps Have you done water parks - I think they would love it !

For kids that age... I think CSR would be best for them. I think they will enjoy it more there. And I think it has more deep ends there, thought there's no dividing in any moderates.

Another vote for CSR's pool and slide. Not to mention the pool bar and nachos!
