Mod to Value.

Well none of the values are going to feel like the POFQ since the POFQ is very small and quiet. The values are pretty busy and have tons of rooms with tons of families. The food court is always a zoo and there are always huge lines for the buses. We have stayed in all of them and if we had to go back I would pick POP because it isnt as far out as the other values and they do not share buses.

I go to WDW several times a year and pretty much always stay at a Moderate or do a split stay at two mods or a mod and a deluxe. However, I have stayed at Pop several times, AS Sports twice, and AS Music once. If it came down to either a value or not going, I'd stay at AS Music, but if at all possible would upgrade to a moderate. I'm just not a fan of the values--too loud, too crowded, food court always a zoo, hate the hot, uncovered bus stops, decor is too over the top, no hot tub, no pool slides, too much concrete, plus their bus stops are always one of the last coming out of the parks. After being in the parks, I prefer a more quiet, relaxed feeling at the resort.

I say go stay at the Music. It is much smaller than the Pop, and the theme is a little less attractive to the kiddies than the Movies or Sports themes.

Also, if you want a quiet location ask if you can be on the top floor. You will have little to no foot traffic going by your room, and you will not have anyone jumping on your heads. Also, the back of the buildings are quieter than the front side.

The only problem with Music is that if the OP asks for a quiet room she may be put in the hinterland of Country/Broadway which is quite a hike to the buses and the food court.

They don't share buses yet. I would not make my decision based on that since Art of Animation is opening soon. I would not be surprised if Pop and AoA share buses at least during off-peak times.

POP and AoA are not sister resort. AoA have gated pool probably to keep the POP out of their pool. I very much doubt that they will share the bus even if during off-peak. I have yet to read non sister resorts to share buses during slow times on the DISboard.

.

i think if you don't book a preferred room at ASMU and request a room as close to front as possible but not facing the pool, you will get a room on the back side of the buildings which were quiet as anything and we were there during a busy week last year. OR book preferred but request away from the pool

We usually stay deluxe, but did Pop a few years ago on a last minute trip. We LOVED it!! (And this was before the flat screen TVs and fridges). Sure, the rooms are smaller, but we were hardly there, except to shower and sleep. I did wish the pool had a slide or something, but again, we only spent a couple of hours there one afternoon. Bus service was the best we ever had at ANY Disney resort. Food court had plenty of variety and service was efficient. We stayed in the Big Wheel building, top floor, facing the lake- it was perfect!

That being said, the new AoA looks pretty darn cool, but I am only interested in the suites. (As a mom of a 9 year old boy, I wish they would open some regular rooms over there in a section besides The Little Mermaid :confused3)

Thanks for the information about the gated pool and reminding me of "sister resorts". That is certain true of the All Stars and the Port Orleans resorts. However, the deluxe resorts at the MK share buses and so do the deluxe resorts at Epcot and they are not "sister resorts". I guess what I'm saying is that you have a good argument that the two won't share a bus, but I still would not be surprised if they do and I still would not hang my hat on the non-shared bus until AoA is open for a while and Disney gets any transportation issues ironed out. Disney is all about saving money.
