Mockingjay (now with spoilers. Jump in when you can)

I couldnt wait for Mockingjay and after finishing it i felt sad that the trilogy was over. I found the book good overall but it left me very emotional towards the end. I am glad that katniss ended up with peeta but i wish there were more moments with them before and leading up to when they got back together at the end.

I am very excited to see how the movies turn out but i am afraid of the casting because i have such clear pictures of the characters in my mind, i feel seeing different looking people might ruin it!

I am somewhat disappointed. There be spoilers below!

1. Huge gaps in the story---i.e. I would have loved to read about Peeta's rescue from the Capital.

2. Hated that Peeta's personality was sucked out of him---even if he did regain much of it, I felt the character was somewhat ruined.

3. Gale disappearing at the end. How tidy. I cannot imagine Gale taking an important job and moving on just like that. Very uncharacteristic and seemed like a lame attempt to get him out of the picture.

4. Felt the whole thing was rushed. The book could have been much longer.

I :lovestruc it, and thought that Collins got what she wanted across really well- we may have wanted the relationships, but she wasn't writing about that, she was writing about war and what goes on within war, the political and emotional and physical struggles.... The whole thing was told through Katniss' voice, so since Katniss wasn't involved in Peeta's rescue, or in any her trial, the picking up of the pieces after Prim's death, or Gale's training with the weapons maker, we don't see it...

I was really disappointed with the ending because of the children issue- when she states that she had kids because Peeta wanted them and he wanted them so badly... made me think that Katniss didn't want them at all, and just had them for Peeta's sake... Gale's moving on to a different area made sense to me because he didn't fit with Katniss anymore- she wouldn't be able to live with his killing of Prim, and he wouldn't be able to live with her reproach... Katniss couldn't to the other districts because she could have been used as a political pawn by someone else wanting to take control of the new government, so she went somewhere safe- her old district.

What I would love to see (and I'm sure she won't do) would see the entire series done from Peeta's point of view, kinda like Stephanie Myers promised with Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's point of view). How he sees things, how he gets together with the rebellion, how he sees Katniss through everything...

Oh, and I kept imagining Haysmith (spelled wrong? don't have a copy in front of me) as Nathan Fillon

I didn't picture Fillion, but it would be cool for the movie!!!! Now that you mention it, I can see it!:)
