I'm super excited to try mobile ordering for the first time and cut our wait time in line, as we mainly eat QS in the parks. I think I understand all the basics of how it works, but I've read a few posts about it timing out. I will be ordering for our family of five, will I have enough time to put everyone's order in before this "time out" happens, or will I have to separate are food into two orders? Any other tips about mobile ordering are welcomed.

I've never had it time out, and we sometimes take a loooooong time to figure out what we want. I didn't even know it could do that.

I'd just look through the menu and make sure everyone knows what they want, and then actually start your order (just refresh it first); you definitely shouldn't have any problems then.

One thing to realize is that there is very limited ability to "customize" on the app - there are lots of places where you can sub fries for the kids' sides if you're ordering in person, but the app won't let you, for instance. Just don't be surprised about that kind of thing.

Also, I always click on the "I'm here" when I'm a few minutes away, so usually my food is waiting for me or close to it by the time I actually get to the window.

As skyegirl said, we’ve never had it time-out either. Mobile ordering is easy peasy.

The only other downside I can think of besides limited customization is that some seasonal items will not appear as available to order. Mainly treats such as the little black rose cakes from Red Rose Tavern and then the gingerbread cookie from Pacific Wharf Cafe. The lines were too long at the time, so we just opted for a different treat.

Note that when you are placing your order, you're placing an order based on what is available at that time. So if you order something, but your window isn't for a few more hours and they sell out of the item, they'll refund you the money, but you won't know they're out until you go to pick up your order. They don't "hold" anything for future orders. This probably isn't a problem if you're ordering something that they almost always have (e.g., a hamburger), but it can be an issue with limited supply items (like the seasonal desserts, especially at Jolly Holiday).

I have a family of 6 and it has timed out on me the first time we used it. But we've learned now to have everyone decide what they want before starting the order, and it's been fine. It gives you plenty of time to enter a large order, but not necessarily if you take time to "browse the menu" during the ordering process.
