Mobile Ordering and Food Allergies

Hi,

We want to use mobile ordering but my wife has a lot of food allergies. By a lot I mean a lot. Lol. The allergy friendly menus don’t fit her allergies. To give you an idea, she is allergic to all fresh tree fruits. If they are cooked it’s fine, but not fresh. Fresh parsley, tarragon and other herbs are a problem as well. Again, cooked is fine. Thank goodness basil, thyme, oregano and cilantro are fine in any form. Fresh carrots and cucumber are an issue as well. Some nuts too. All of this makes house made sauces very dicey. Anything in a bottle is fine because they are cooked.

With this in mind, is there any way to learn the ingredients in a dish through the app? Any other ideas that don’t require standing in line and would allow us to safely use Mobile Order?

Thanks!

With the extent of her allergies, I think it may be crucial for you to talk to the CM at the dining location. I believe they offer gluten free items though mobile order, but I would hate for her to order something that would cause an allergic reaction.

if you’re looking to enjoying mobile order, i would suggest using it for snacks or desserts you know she can eat.

Yeah, that’s what we are thinking. We were just hoping there might be a way to check through the app.

Disney is great with her allergies. The care they take is remarkable, and they were doing it long before other places. The looks we get from people when the chef comes to our table to talk to her are priceless! They look at us wondering who the heck are those people! Lol.

Disney Cruise Line and Aulani are great as well.

Yes! I’ve heard great things about Disney and taking care of people with allergies.

The app has some allergy menus available but they're the same ones you're going to see at the actual restaurants, what is safe for top 8 allergies. If you need more detailed ingredient info you do have to speak to someone at the location. They have giant binders on hand that they can flip through to tell you. I have a severe tree nut allergy and had a great experience a while back at Les Halles when I wanted to make sure the pesto on a sandwich was indeed Provencal pistou (which is traditionally nut free and safe for me). The CM hauled out the big binder and was able to confirm it for me.
