We plan to attend on Tuesday October 17th. I know there are ways to pre-purchase and save a few dollars, but because we are flying into MCO at 4:30 that day, I don't want to buy ahead just in case of a delay (or really bad weather). My question is: do they really sell out ahead of time, or is it safe to wait a buy the tix at the gate? This will be our first MNSSHP. Because it is a Tuesday, do you think the crowd may be a little lighter? :confused3

Tuesdays are lighter crowd days. Yes, they do sell out but not normally on a weekday. That's not guaranteed though. Isn't there a different day you could attend so you could get your tickets and be assured.

Will you be using ME? If so, keep in mind that your luggage won't arrive in your room for awhile after you do. Take costumes in a carry on.

My opinion is that you will be awfully rushed to fit this in with a late afternoon arrival time. I would try for another day. But, that's just my opinion.

Thanks Magicaldisney,

We are cruising that weekend, so its that night or not at all (the kids are already out of school for a week- so I can't stretch it any more). Trust me, I'd like more 'time' too. At first I just said 'no way!', but I want to go so much! My kids don't even know about MNSSHP just in case it doesn't happen. I am the disney freak in the family.

I think you should just go. Honestly, we feel it is a do not miss. We have attended the last 5 years and we wouldn't miss it.

You won't have any down time before going, so if the kids can handle being up until 1:00 a.m. (by the time you leave the park and get back to the resort for bed), I would go and enjoy yourself. As for bad weather, you are never guaranteed that won't happen. We have been there when it has poured the whole evening. We just put on our ponchos and keep going. We got our pictures taken right away so cosutmes could come off since we were wearing ponchos and no one could see them anyways.

Here's what MNSSHP has to offer:

Hours 7:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Characters in costumes
Trick or Treating
Special Fireworks
Special Parades
Dance parties with characters
Free photo for everyone in your party
No waiting in line for rides (limited # of tickets are sold)
This is the only time you will see any of the parks decorated for Halloween.

If you decide to go....have a great time!! :woohoo:

Just to reassure you....

our flight arrives at 5pm on the 17th and we already have tickets to MNSSHP for that night. We're planning on....
landing
getting luggage
getting rental car
driving to resort, checking in, changing into costumes
bussing to MK
enjoying as long as we can at MNSSHP

the kids are 5 and 7, but we can sleep in that morning, rest on the plane, and just understand that their sleep pattern rules, so we'll do what we can.

The crowds get lighter as the evening wears on, so that's a plus, even if we can't be there at 4pm, or even 7pm. We'll take what we can get. Enjoy and have fun!
