The kind of experience you have described does not happen solely at the hard ticket parties, so I'm not sure it's possible to blame it on "the different crowd these events seem to draw." There isn't a different crowd at the events. You could be at the park on a regular day, and some jerk will shove in front of you at the parade or fireworks. and they won't all be "single, non-family" type people either, although some of them will be. Families can be just as rude, and even ruder. Would you be feeling the same way if some parents came up and pushed their children in front of your children, and then said it was more important for THEIR children to be able to see? That happens, a lot.
However, if you don't have much interest in the party events, there isn't much point in purchasing tickets for it. If you've been to a sold-out hard ticket party, it turns out that the lines for the most popular rides aren't going to be that much shorter.
