We are arriving Sept 25th which is a MNSSHP date, not sure what flight but we will try for an early arrival. We also will be there for th 27th, which is a Sunday. I assume that Sunday would be less crowded thans a Friday, right?

I assume that locals don't usually attend Sunday parties, right?

i will be there same time as you and i opted for the thursday night party.. on the hopes that locals wont wanna be out to midnight on a work night/school night... at least that is my hope...lol

Neither day has an advantage. There's also F&W to consider as this will have attendance up as well.

I would do the Sunday party. Like you said, Fridays are more crowded due to locals, plus scheduling something like a party on your arrival day could be risky. Something could happen with your flight, or you might decide when you arrive that you're too tired to stay up until midnight.

F&W isn't a nighttime thing. People can hop over from a long day at EPCOT and go to the party. Also, thinking along the lines of condo rentals and such (I used to live near a beach town, but I'm aware this is different), a lot of people will vacation from Saturday to Saturday. If that holds true somewhat in Disney, both parties could have roughly the same attendance.

Is there a crowd calendar for the Halloween parties out yet? I couldn't find one.

Touring Plans does one, but from what I understand, they use ride wait times to determine crowd levels, which really doesn't make sense since most people don't spend the big bucks to do rides that they can do during regular park hours.

I have done MNSHHP the day I arrived techincally (flight got in at 1am) and it was such rush, I'd say to wait and not rush a party the day ya arrive.

Actually that's why we go! My son likes the parade (and the trick or treating of course!) and riding the rides, doesn't care about the characters. For us, the determining factor for when we decide to go will be the lowest crowd levels possible.

Unless you are not spending the big bucks because a party ticket is cheaper per day than a up to a 4 day ticket.
