MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

I'd say the bags are about 9" x 9" x 4". They are usually good enough. I guess it depends if you are mostly trick or treating or riding and doing the shows and parades.

DH is already talking about the candy. I think that he's going to be worse than my 3 yr old.

I read that the srollers are not free at MNSSHP... what if you get to the park earlier in the day (say 3:30- we have a parkhopper)- do you still get a sroller for free and can you keep it during the party? Just cannot picture carrying DS4 around the park late at night!!

I'm pretty sure the free stroller thing went the same way as the free photos at the parties. Regardless, I can guarantee you won't get one free at 3:30.

we get the trick or treat bags, which are cute.. last year they had UP on them. I hope this year is Toy Story 3, then we dump them into a larger trick or treat bag that DH carries. It works out great bringing the candy home, b/c then we can hand that out at our house for Halloween.

The bags are a decent size but I also brought a gallon ziploc bag to put candy in the back pack when the kids got tired of carrying so much. It is easy to get an extra bag as well if you need it.

Hm- this just made me think- will we have trouble getting strollers at parks in the afternoons if we park hop- or are there plenty of strollers around?

I've never heard of anyone having trouble. By that time in the afternoon there should be enough people leaving the parks anyway.

Hello DISers!
Oh, I am sooo glad we choose September for our first WDW vacation b/c we get the chance to enjoy a earlier MNSSHP date! We're going at 09/14!
Now I need to convice my fiancee to use some kind of 'small-not-hot' Halloween themed apparel
I'll need to see what I can put on my suitcase here in Brazil to bring to WDW or if it's better and space saving wiser to buy something in Orlando area.... where is the question... We've got a car but...
Both myself and my fiancee are "choco-lovers"; do the candy include chocolate or it's more like confectionary hard candy?
I can't wait till September!!!

I haven't seen much Chocolate handed out. It was mostly lollypops, raisons, taffy and rockets (I think they are called something else in the US-little candy in rolls).

My sister is considering coming also, and pretty much the only reason she'd come is for MNSSHP, which we have never been to and might not get the chance to go to again for awhile due to school/job schedules. She's 22; I'm almost 26. We're both total Disney freaks, but we aren't really big character meet people. We would probably want to see the fireworks, and maybe the parade, and go on a bunch of rides. We'd probably go to the party on Friday the 22nd.

So... do you think the party would be worth it for us? Also, would it be weird for us to trick-or-treat, since we're both in our 20s and have no kids? How long can the lines get on the more popular rides on busier nights?

even if you aren't big character people - wouldn't you like to see the White Rabbit and the Red Queen from Alice? And the great Mrs Tremaine with the two step sisters - their interaction is great. You don't get to meet these groups often except at parties like this.

Don't be shy about trick n treating - we all do it there!.

As for the parade - it is a great Halloween parade.

The ride lines are shorter the later in evening it gets. But folks seem to think the line wait is better than normal.


If you are into doing costumes - well this night is your chance. Hope that helps

me and my dh dont have kids yet and we're in our 20s. we've always enjoyed ourselves at MNSSHP and have dressed up everytime. as for the rides, the park seemed busy enough when we were there and there was onlyl a little wait.

On the cooler days there seems to be more chocolate. We were there early at one of the candy stations and they seemed to have a big bottom layer of the cheap hard candy and then they had a certain amount of boxes per station they would top off the bin with the brand name candy and chocolate. Once that was gone it was all cheapy candy. They also had a few stations with just foil wrapped chocolate coins that seem to only come out when it's cool enough. So even though there are lines for t and t early it may be worth your while...

So i was told my a rep that this year they are not letting you in early on the Mnsshp ticket.

I was a little bummed because I was hopen to get in at 4. has any one been told this? Also does any one have a map for this year yet?

i think the parks will be mighty empty from 5pm til 7pm when most of the people who are being told this will stay away until 7pm.

I, on the other hand will arrive about 4:30
