MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

I tried to do this but it's fully booked!! I guess alot of people go for this option, i think we're going to eat at Lunch in DTD and then head to MK for the afternoon parade. Hoping alot of people will leave after parade so we'll enjoy rides before 7pm when we'll get started on the party!!

Try booking earlier. We had a 6:30 ressie and moved it to 4:30 so we'd be done before the party started. When booking online, I saw openings for 4:25, 4:55 and 5:05.

What are the bags that you're talking about? Do you have a link online so I can look at them? My parents live near Deptford so they would be able to pick one up for me

There's a picture on page 26 -- they are like the reusable shopping totes -- but Halloween.

I have a question: We're dining at Sanaa at 5:00 PM and then plan on heading to MNNSHP from there, via bus. Our tickets are being held at the MK, and I assume we'll arrive around 7-7:30 PM.

Is this poor planning? How crazy will it be if we arrive at that time? I know a lot of people will be leaving the park . . . but going in, is it a madhouse?

Are you sure the tix are only being held at MK? Usually you can pick them up from any Guest Relations (but maybe only the ones at the theme parks?)...

We picked ours up one year at AK a couple of days before the actual party.

Last time we went to MNSSHP it rained horribly. There was thunder and lightning and we ended up in sweating in ponchos the whole night. You couldn't even see the kids' costumes. Disney offered no refund, but the tickets do say rain or shine. Even the CM who sold them over the phone said rain or shine. Next time I'll just pay a little extra at the gate and get them once I'm there. That way I'll have a better idea of the forecast.

Let me add that we still had fun. Once it stopped raining around 9 or 10pm a lot of the people that couldn't "wait it out" left and we walked onto every ride. We got crazy amounts of candy on our way out of the park that night! Perhaps a guilt offering or a reward for having put up with such bad weather.

Did the parade or fireworks get cancelled? What did you do while it was raining?

I am getting worried about all the talk about rain. If we wait to buy tickets until we get there, we still get the discounted buy before the day of price even if we buy the tickets one day before the party, right?

For example, we are planning to go to the party on 9/15. Can we wait until the 13th or 14th to buy the tickets and still get the cheaper ones?

I am going to MNSSHP on the 15th...I am dressing up as Little Bo Peep (not the Disney costume as it was too expensive on ebay...250 dollars!!), my niece will be a lamb (she is 6 months old) and my Mom, Dad, Sis, and Gpa will be wearing lamb ears (they didn't want to wear full costumes)!!

I just bought my costume and my niece's costume online last night. I can't wait to see them and try them on. I also bought a fun long curly ringlet wig, a lab shaped purse, and a fold up shepard's crook!

I am counting down the days!!!!

Just to be clear, I think you have to pick them up from a Guest Relations window where they sell tickets... This may be reserved to the parks (AK, MK, Epcot, HS, or maybe TTC) or may include the ones at DTD. I don't think it includes the resorts, but you can ask.

However, if you are going to a park that day or any day before, just stop at GR on your way in or out and pick them up. Or just drop by a park GR (which is outside the turnstiles) some time/day before. (If you aren't going to a park at all before dinner, it may be worth zipping over to GR at AK from AKL to pick them up ahead.)

When it poured we found cover and hung out with others. When the rain let up, we put on our ponchos and headed out to get candy and ride some rides. Once the rain cleared, we went looking for photos ops. The money was spent, what else could we do? In the end, we had a blast.

Yes, you can pick up your party tickets at any guest relations, including your resort.

My tip? Don't eat before you go (cause you'll eat tons of candy!) and dress up!
