MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

Question, from the first float to the last, how long does the parade last, in minutes preferably?

I'm planning on watching the 10:30pm parade and want to estimate what time we'd end up leaving the park.

Many thanks.

So that means that Columbia Harbour House will be open until 7pm.
Did I get it right??

Because I thought on having dinner around 5pm.
Do you think it's a good idea? Or earlier?

Thanks!

Not necessarily. Some restaurants that aren't open for the party close earlier than 7:00p. I don't remember what time CHH closed in the past but I'm thinking it was around 5:30p - 6:00p. Hopefully someone can answer it for sure whose been to a party this year.

Sounds like LTT was omitted from the map by accident.

At one time I had a Liberty Tavern ADR for 8:30 p.m. on 9/29, but when I realized it was the night of the party I canceled it. I would assume it's open though since I had a confirmation number.

Okay - I just went onto the Disney Dining reservation site. I booked a ressie for 10/9 at 7:35 p.m. at Liberty Tree Tavern. Not sure why they are not listed as an open restaurant on the map  Maybe the map changes in October and includes more restaurants :confused3

Well, given the problems they have had with the online booking system not always having the correct information, I wouldn't trust that making a booking now guarantees your ADR will stand. In the past, when LTT was open during party hours (the good ol' days w/characters!), you could only book an ADR by giving your party ticket confirmation number first, to prove you would be at the party. With the new online system, they don't seem to be able to do that (yet), but that doesn't mean they won't call you and tell you that you don't really have an ADR at that time because the restaurant isn't really open due to a computer error, or that they will ask you to prove you have party tix to be in the park at that time (if it is really open during the party).

No. The computers are programmed not to accept the tickets before 4. It would be too time consuming for the CMs to be able to override the gate computers and check "lists" and IDs of people who claim to have some sort of reservation. They wouldn't let you in if you had 3:50 appointments; why would they let you in if you have 4:00 appointments? (Early breakfasts are different - the gates are locked for those, and you don't have other people coming in and out of the parks. At 3:50 on a party night, all the gates are open and non-party guests are going in and out.)

Your best bet would be to notify Reservations that you may be a little late for your appointment. Enter at 4 and run like Alice!!

Thanks. I think I have an extra day that I can probably use if need be. If not we can jump on moms scooter and drive like the wind LOL

Hi all! We are headed to our first MNSSHP on 9/25, and are soooo excited! I've looked through every page of this thread, and don't remember seeing this particular question, so I apologize if it's a repeat.
Will the characters autograph a MNSSHP t-shirt if you put a book underneath for them to lean on?
Thanks in advance!

I just noticed that this was your first post ever....:welcome: to the dis!

I'm going to the party on 9/25 too!

Welcome to the Disboards, PineapplePrincess!

So where are Mickey and Minnie this year?
Are they at both the Gazebo on Main St. and in the Judge's Tent in Toontown?

I'm not sure about Main Street, but based on pictures from Friday it looks like they're at least behind their houses, and Minnie is also at the Fantasyland dance party with Daisy.

If you were at the party this year, where was Snow White? This is our must-do for the party. Everything else will just be icing. :)

In years past, she has been in between the teacups and the entrance to Toontown. There's a character sign on this year's map around that same area, it looks a little bit off though.

Have you been this year? I was hoping for confirmation. :upsidedow Of course, it's Disney, so I could get confirmation now, and it could be completely different at the end of the month. I checked out the map, and it looks like it's where Donald's tree lot is during MVMCP (assuming that's the area people have been mentioning). Anyone who's been to both care to confirm that?

Last year we went to eat at CHH and it was closed by 6:00, I think it might have even closed at 5? the place was locked and empty.. I couldn't believe it..so we ate at Peco's Bills and it was good...just an fyi

This is our first year going we went to the Christmas party last year and the kids had a blast...Can't wait!!!!

Last year's shirt was black and the print was a glow in the dark one. So, plan for a special sharpie that writes on dark fabrics or colors.

Welcome to the boards!! :cheer2:

When you make an ADR online for a restaurant in MK it has in red lettering that there is a special event going on that you need an extra ticket for in order to enter the park and get to the restaurant .

It will be my first time at Disney, and I want to go to the MNSSHP.
We'll be there on october 8th to october 18th.

We'll go to the party on october 12th (monday). Do you think there will be more people, because it's Columbus Day?

Is the Columbia Harbour House a good idea for dinner, around 5pm?
EDIT : I've took a look at this year map and Columbia Harbour House will not be open. Does it means that it will close at 4pm?
Any other suggestion on where to eat, near a good parade spot?

And is near Hall Presidents a good spot to see the first parade?

Thanks a lot!

Across from Hall of Presidents, in front of the the Christmas shop is where we have watched the parade from twice - it was great :thumbsup2

A few questions, sorry if asked previously.

1-does anyone know after which shows the Vilians come down in front of the castle for the meet and greet. Before it has only been like 2 shows a night. does anyone know the show times this year or is it all of them.

2-Does Donald duck meet at his Boat in Toon Town in costume this year? Does Goofy meet at Barnstormer? And who is in the Toon Town Hall of Fame this year and what costumes? If so are these all night like Mickey and Minnie

3-Was any character up font in town square. Last year we saw Chip and Dale as Vampires up in Town Square arount 10:30..they were all alone except for us. No one elase was there it was spooky (really0 we were all alone with them.

Thanks in advance....for all help trying to optimize my plans.

I'm no where close to a Disney store and we arrive Saturday. We're doing MNSSHP next Tuesday. I love those bags! Is there anywhere onsite to purchase them?

TIA!

I can confirm that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were in Fantasyland, in between the teacups and the entrance to Mickey's Toontown Fair. That's where they were Friday night.

And Mickey and Minnie were in costume behind their respective houses in Toontown. The waits were short at about 10:30 p.m. - about 15 minutes for each one.

Thanks! Do you walk through the houses as part of the line, or is the line outside?
