I just found out that MNSSHP was the night before we leave on Oct 23rd. We booked the Raddisson and were not planning to go to the parks, but now that I realize I could go to MNSSHP I may have to change my mind!!

It is only my DH and I (both 28) so staying up late wouldn't bother us, but are we crazy to do this, then drive to the Raddisson and then cruise the next morning??

Anyone else going to both?? You only live once right! Now what to dress up as....

Kate

We are doing this 10/8, but we are staying at the All-Star Movies and getting a towncar to the port the next morning. To me, it is no different staying up late and going to the port the next day for around 11:00, as opposed to getting up at 5:00 am the day of the cruise and flying in (what we did last time).

I'm sure whatever you decide, you will have a great time!! Six weeks from tomorrow for us!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi Kate,

You might want to check on the Cruise Meet thread for our cruise. I am fairly sure there are a few others doing MNSSHP the night before. We are going to be at the Radisson, but with a little one in tow (DS5) so we aren't going to try and do the MNSSHP - I don't want to start the trip with a tired, crabby kid!

In addition to the cruise meet thread, you might want to look at our cruise website (www.bwdarrah.com/dcl). If you would like to be included in the "who's going" list, just let me know...

Hi Kate! We're booked on the same cruise and we're going to attempt MNSSHP the night before we sail. We're booked at Pop Century that night and will drive to the port in the AM. There's just no way I can be that close to the parks and not get my "fix". My kids (10 & 6) are excited about seeing all the Halloween things at Magic Kingdom. Hopefully they won't be too ornery the next day.

MNSSHP is "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party." Certain evenings in October they re-open the Magic Kingdom for Halloween themed festivities and parades. Most of the rides are open and running too! There's a huge post here ... Halloween Party where you can read about it. It sounds like fun!

My hubby and I went to Mickey's Halloween party last year when we were staying at the resort and it was a blast! We went with some friends of ours who are also big Disney fans (who also do not have children) and we trick or treated our way through the Magic Kingdom. The amount of work that Disney puts into decorating the park for this party is unbelievable.

We are also sailing on the 10/23 Magic and will be spending a couple of nights at the Beach Club Villas before heading to the port - we're definitely going back to the Halloween party. It's too good to be missed!!

My family did the magic kingdom Halloween party (MNNSHP) The night before the cruise and we didn't have any problem, the party does go onto midnight, fireworks are often around 9.15 with two parades at 8.30 and 10.30pm.

Our luggage was taken in the morning from our room at the Polynesian, we went to Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary and then drove to Port Canaveral for check in and whilst there was a queue we were on by abut 12.15pm.

Nice to do everything and if you are going on a cruise its a good alternative to getting up at 7am for the parks.

We are doing the MNSSHP before our OCT 8th cruise, due to flight issues (my poor planning) we won't get there until about 8:00, but still should be enough time to enjoy the party. We are renting a car at the airport driving to CR checking in and quickly changing and then off to MK (reason for CR). The next morning planning on driving to Port drop off car at AVIS and then shuttle to terminal. We chose a rental instead of a town car so we wouldn't have to decide ahead of time when we wanted to get up.

This will be a vacation of first for us, first time MNSSHP, Cruise, CR and Food and Wine festival at the end of our cruise.

I would go for it and have fun....Tickets are still available...

We are doing MVMCP the night before our 10 day cruise this December. We also had not planned that, but found out the last MVMCP was the night before and we decided to do it! We originally were going to stay near the port, but instead will stay at the Polynesian on an AP rate and then will drive to the port first thing in the morning. We'll be tired, but I'm sure a little sleeping on the deck 4 steamer chairs will refresh us!

Have fun!

We're doing the party on 10/8 as well, and I'm not worried about it (yet, LOL). We plan on being at MK as early as possible to get in (about 4:30 pm) and then will stay as long as we feel like it. I doubt we'll stay much past say 10:00 pm, but all we have to do is catch the bus back to AKL and crash. We'll have a rental car, so we'll just get up when we feel like it in the morning, check out, grab breakfast and head for the port. Can't wait!

P.S. Hi Cindy and allforpooh!

I'm so glad this thread was started! I was planning on going to the party on 10/17, and didn't realize I needed tix in advance!!! (and I call myself a WDW expert! for shame!) :rolleyes1

Sounds like great fun - I wish I was bringing my kids!! (it's an adults mom/daughters weekend). Hmm, maybe next year (cruise is treat enough for them this year!)

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade but I noticed MNSSHP is sold out per info I saw earlier today when I was on allearsnet.

Possibly some travel agents purchased tickets and thats one option to to get your hands on them. Or ebay? (I say this wiith caution)

No worries, only a small shower :D. I believe that only the MNSSHP on October 31 is sold out. All other dates should be available.

:scared1:  :confused3  :scared1: Say it ain't so!!! I hope it's just 10/31 that's sold out!!!

Sorry - you're right - the only sold out date listed is 10/31 and that makes sense. Next time I'll read the info more closely before posting.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with some info on MNSSHP. My family is planning on spending the day at MK on Oct. 24th. Do we have to purchase additional tickets to stay in the park for the Halloween festivities? If so, is there any break when you purchase for both? Thanks so much for the help...

Disney clears the parks out and has everyone re-enter with the MNSSHP ticket. Unfortunately, they do not give us a break with the day ticket and the HP ticket. We have done the HP and the MVMCP in the past and always chose not to do any parks on the day of our party. We always made that a relaxing day sitting around the pool with afternoon naps. Then we were ready to go in the late afternoon. This just seemed to be the more logically way to handle the late night with small kids. Unfortunately, this year we will probably do AK since we are only in the MK for 4 days and we are traveling with family members that have never been to AK.

Having said that, the price of the MNSSHP is well worth it. Disney does things in grand style including the HP. I don't know how many tickets they allow for each night but unless you are going on 10/31 which is sold out (like me) I have always found it to be a very light crowd. Just image riding Space Mountain again and again and again - without having to get out of your spaceship! It happens! (usually later in the evening but that's the best time of all!) I praying that the 10/31 crowd is light or at least bearable. Anyone ever attend the 10/31 MNSSHP on a weekend night?
