MNSSHP - Storming Oct. 4th

We have been in line for gs for a while and it is really long now.

Sitting in our villa at SSR...cut our night at Epcot early--I think that is a first EVER that we called it quits with the rain. We had raincoats and an umbrella but the lightning was scary and we were cold (it was pretty hot before the rain, too). We were just saying we hope it isn't like this on Monday night when we are at MNSSHP. I'm glad to hear that you can get a refund, but 2 hours in line sounds brutal! Plus, that will be our last night!

I feel bad for all of you who are waiting for GS and/or who have no other night to attend a party!

On a side note-we've been batting 1000 today. SM, BTMR, Splash and the Monorail were all down at some point today when we tried to ride! In fact, we were just about to get into a log when they shut down the queue and escorted those on the ride out another way.

The silver lining? The crowds appear to be very low AND we walked onto nearly everything else (Jungle Cruise was 20 min). Also, our first taste of F&W was awesome!

Stay dry everyone!!!

Hallowishes is starting 10 pm - parade 10:30. Fingers crossed. Still raining. Weather has been atrocious! Yes, refunds were given, but very rare for exceptional storm. Sorry for the short post, it's raining on my screen...

According to the forecast it won't be this bad Monday just light showers in the day time, but the party will be dry. Even then the rain chance is 20%, so I think people going Monday should have no problem.

We are back at BLT now...we were able to get a complete refund but we waited in line forever. They did allow just one person to wait...you needed all the wristbands and tickets though. I sent my mom back with the kids...I did not need my 12 week old out in it. There was some serious lightning going on!

We are here too. Hallo wishes still hasn't started. My husband went up to city hall while me and the kids waited for the fireworks and parade and for a free day for anytime in the next year plus we can stay for the fireworks. Just want to let everyone know!

Hope not! We're leaving Sat and partying Mon. Hope you guys are able to salvage some of your party!:goodvibes

At least none of you was on BTMRR.... which is where I was when it let loose at MVMCP last year. Who knew rain could hurt so much.....:rotfl:

I think that btmrr in a blazing rain storm is the best ride walt disney world ever imagineered - a water ride roller coaster, seriously you folks in the park go ride BTMRR. It is a wonderful special treat you will never forget.

This happened to us on 9/14/2007 and they were losing power all over the park. Since then we have stayed away from MNSSHP...until next week. We have not purchased tickets yet, but are making the decision on Sunday when we arrive based upon an updated weather picture to do 10/8 or 10/11 (if available).

In 2007,upon exiting we were given a rain check ticket for each MNSSHP ticket that gave a one day admittance to MK with a year expiration.

Stay safe from the storm, at least you are not stuck on Its a Small World for over an hour with a power outage (that was us in 2007).

I'm just going to say im very disappointed in this situation. DH and I got in line around 7:40 at guest relations, just got done and they still wanted me to pay the difference for tomorrows party. Needless to say after my wait that I reminded then of, we got an exchange free of upgrade charge, anywho, on the bus home now, others are saying they enjoyed the park tonight because cm's told them they could do this at the resort no problem... However the cm's at city hall said otherwise... That really burns me we wasted all that time in line and missed dinner... I think I'm going to talk to the front desk at AoA, what do you guys think???

We were here tonight and what a bummer it is to be here. Very wet lots of lightning and just over all miserable to be here. Disney did its best to make it up. Just got our tickets refunded on a Disney gift card so we can hopefully purchase tickets and come again this month (we live Here in florida). Was really looking forward to the parade and characters :( we did manage to see the princesses in the beginning of the evening though.

We were there tonight. Spent a lot of time inside. Finally left when they cancelled the parade. The lines at Guest Services inside and outside the parks were brutal. Went back to the hotel (Pop Century--really great Value resort, BTW) and they refunded our tickets. We are very happy.

So sorry it turned out to be that way, that would be a big let down :sad1:

We just got back to our room. If you got a Magic kingdom free day card you are able to get a refund at your hotel concierge. You also have to have all your party ticket. You can pick 3 options, refund, another day MNSHHP ticket or a day at the MK.

We waited a long time in the line for gs but finally they were able to figure out to do it at the resorts. It was crazy in the line people were screaming at the CM's. Sadly Disney try very hard to make everyone happy but they didn't pass on the information well.

They didn't have to refund the tickets or do anything they were nice enough to try to make everyone happy.

I just got back also. It was pretty miserable.

I honestly had no idea that the outside characters wouldn't come out if there was lightening. That was the worst. Not many characters, no mix and mingle.

We managed to meet the Princesses/Princes, Duffy, Phineas and Ferb. We did one candy line, saw goofy, pluto and stich at the Dance party for about 2 mins and Philharmagic.

I lost my camera somewhere during the night and hoped it would have been returned to guest relations. I had no luck with the camera but the wonderful CM helping me told me that I could get a refund at my resort.

Tonight was such a disappointment! We were so looking forward to the party and my husband really got into dressing up as Jack Sparrow. A lot of thought went into the outfits, all for them to be hidden beneath ponchos.

My biggest complaint is that none of the CMs were aware of what was happening all night. Every time you asked a cm a question you got a conflicting or confusing answer. The candy drops didn't even start until 8;30. The CMs that we did speak to were for the most part extremely rude. They were clearly not pleased with the situation and I'm sure they were catching attitude from guests, it was very unmagical. We waited for the parade to start around 8, waited forever and finally they announced that the parade was delayed but would begin "shortly". We didn't know what that meant. Is shortly 5 minutes? 10? 30? Well we waited 10 minutes and gave up, saw someone with candy so went in search of an open candy stop. From then on we were able to do some trick or treating, but it was pretty miserable.

My sister and bil had to leave at 9:30, so they decided to head to guest services to see if anything could be done. They were told the line was over 2 1/2 hours long, so they left. I then spoke to a cm who said we can go to our concierge at the hotel for a refund. I relayed this info to my sister who then went to Pop to get a refund. She was told that since there was bad weather there's no way she would get a refund.

I'm so confused??? A couple of posts above mine someone said they were able to get a refund at Pop. :(

I guess I'll just wait until the morning to see if I can get something straightened out. My sister is on her way home now, so I'm guessing they won't be able to do anything for her.

Not the best 1st time at MNSSHP. Oh well :/

In line now for 2 hours and we're almost inside city hall.... Everything was canceled for tonight

Everything wasn't canceled. Hallowishes & the 2nd parade (minus headless horseman) went on, delayed. We got a TON of candy in the last 30 minutes ... the candy giver outers were having a ball. I loved it!

I agree about how management handled the situation at City Hall. There was no plan in place, no clear communication to guests, and cast members were letting people enter the line wherever they wanted, creating more chaos.

We were there also. I just spoke to the front desk at our hotel.
She said to take our ticket Stubbs and wrist bands to Guest
Relations at any park to receive one day tickets good for one
year from date of party. Going to try it again tonight. We were
dressed as Duck Dynasty and we be again tonight because they
stayed covered most of last night.
