My sister has booked a trip for this October, and has already purchased her 3 tickets for MNSSHP. She has since found out she is expecting twins! She will be 30 weeks at the time of her scheduled trip, and is expecting she will not be allowed to travel by that point because she has a high-risk pregnancy. She is going to try to change flights, hotel, etc to go at the end of June instead. She is wondering about her party tickets - does Disney ever give a refund for a circumstance like this? If so, how would she go about it? She doesn't have park hoppers, but wondered about applying the money she had paid for the tickets to park hoppers instead. I'm thinking she probably isn't supposed to sell them at a reduced price, or is that allowed? I really had no idea what to tell her, so I said I would post on here because I was sure someone would have some advice for her! She is aware that she may just have to eat the cost of the tickets, but thought I'd check to see if there was anything else she could do.
Thanks!

Technically they are non-refundable. She should call Disney and plead her case. There is a chance they will help out due to the circumstances. If not, I do believe she could resell them since they are unused. I have not heard of there being rules about not allowing this. Perhaps someone else can confirm this.

^this

Have her call and explain. They might refund due to the circumstance, but they don't have to as party tickets are non refundable. If not, then as long as she hasn't linked the tickets to her account she could very well sell the tickets

I was able to get a refund for one of the parties in September. I called this morning and they said it was no problem. Have your sister call and tell them the situation.

If the phone cm won't refund her just have her call again and get another cm. We've had party tickets refunded for much less valid reasons.

As a twin mom very good call on not traveling that late in her pregnancy. I'm not even sure I could have handled an earlier trip, but I hope she's able to enjoy Disney in June. I agree with other posters I'd call and if she gets a no try and call again and speak to another CM. They have definitely made exceptions to the rule.

You are allowed to resell the tickets, if it comes to that. I doubt it will, though, because CMs are fairly generous about the "non-refundable" policy.

Thank you all so much for your help! I told her to try to call and see what happens.

Hopefully they will refund the tickets. We went a few years ago during September, including a trip to MNSSHP. I was 28 weeks pregnant. We had a few things we had to change around because of the pregnancy and Disney was very understanding and accommodating to make that happen.

Coming from a hotel industry, there are many events in our hotel that were "non-refundable". We always offered a refund if the guest had a valid (or even barely-valid) reason. In our minds we always had time to turn around and resell that spot. Plus, going above and beyond for a guest and refunding a non-refundable event makes them very happy. Generally, guarantees you a repeat guest when they can travel again.
