what is the cost? and was it worth it? we did 2 days at MVMCP and loved the shows and parades. we were wondering if its worth it. and links to pictures and video would be great. we are planning to go to MNSSHP next year. thanks

It is SOOOOOOO worth it. The price is less than MVMCP, I belive it is around $38 for adults, not sure of the price for kids because our DD was free. We went the beginning of October on a Sunday and it was so uncrowded. We walked on every ride, trick-o-treating was so fun, dressing up our DD was great, the parade and Halo-wishes were fantastic. We had so much fun that we went back on that Friday. When I got home I downloaded the Grim Grim Ghost song to my cell phone so I would have the memories of the party when ever my phone rang.

I do not have any pictures handy but I am sure that someone does. This party was so much fun that I had to convince myself and with the help from DIser's to go next year for Christmas time instead of for Halloween time. If you are thinking about going, just try it, I am sure you'll love it.

I agree it's so worth it. We did our 3rd MNSSHP this past year and we love it.
DD7 has a ball and loves getting to trick or treat. I have learned though over the years to get costumes that are appropriate for Florida. We're from Louisville and since we're used to cooler weather on Halloween, the first year we went dd was Bear in the Big Blue house, which was great for here but a little warm for down there. This last time she was Tinker Belle and the time before that Minnie Mouse. I would definitely do it because it is well worth it.

I had no interest in going before. We were in Orlando after Hurricane Wilma and talked to a CM about it. He convinced us to go and said it was fun even if you don't have kids (we don't have them yet). We went and loved it! We walked on all the rides except some of the Fantasyland rides. I really liked the parade and the fireworks. The song from the parade - Boo to You- really sticks in your mind. I wish we had costumes. It costs more if you buy tickets the day of. I think it was about $41 the day of. We will definitely go back.

We always go in October just so we can go to this party. There is nothing like trick or treating in the MK.

I think it was about 34 or 35 bucks per person, with the kids' tickets being a little bit less. Considering the fact that all of the rides were complete walk ons, it is WELL worth it. Honestly, we rode all of the rides over and over with no wait on any of them. The big draw on these nights are the characters in costume. Everyone is in line for them, and those lines can get pretty long. We liked seeing them from a distance, and were able to grab a couple of pics/autographs just by sheer luck of the characters walking up right where we were at the time.

The whole park is decorated for Halloween and the castle is lit by alternating orange, purple and green lights. It really is very cool. They have a lot of really cool things going on, like live bands playing at different places throughout the park, costume contests, etc. Of course there are the trick or treating stations throughout the park too.

The Boo To You Halloween parade was so much fun. I cannot get that catchy little tune out of my head. The Headless Horseman rides around in front of the parade and it is not to be missed. The fireworks are extra special that night as well.

We really do love going. It is a blast. Here are a few photos from this past October.

Never have done MVMCP but we did do MNSSHP last October. It was a blast. I have a 14 year old daughter and a 16 year old son and they both enjoyed it quite a bit too. I even got them to both dress up (my son went as a Taco Bell employee - his part time job) which is an accomplishment. The parade and the trick or treating was a great time. I think we will probably make another trip down during MNSSHP so we can do it again. It will become a once a year thing for us I think.

You can get a discount on the cost of the tickets for specific days if you are a DVC member (like me!).

We did MVMCP in Dec '04, and MNSSHP in Oct '05. I've never been a big fan of Halloween, but I LOVED MNSSHP- worth every penny.

We did MVMCP twice on our Dec. trip but we did everything for MNSSHP in one night.

MNSSHP seemed a lot less crowded than MVMCP, and we went a few days before Halloween.

Question (not trying to hijack the thread) but we have never been at this time of year so if you DON'T buy tickets to the party can you still ride these rides? I don't get it?

We went on Halloween this year- which was sold out. It was not too crowded at all (at least we did not think so) We were able to walk on most rides (we did have a 2 year old with us, so I can't speak for Space Mountain etc. but I don't think the waits were more than 15 minutes even for those) We never even had to get off the buzz lightyear ride, we just kept riding it over and over (about 3 times I think!) Also, since it was the last night they were VERY generous with the candy!

IMHO- it is so worth it!!!!
PS: We will be going to our first MVMCP next year because we had so much fun at MNSSHP!

I was down there for a meeting in October and bought tickets for my family to go to MNSSHP. Well before we left I was talking to my boss and told him about it and he decided to bring his family along. None of which had ever been to MK. First I must tell you my boss is not the most outgoing person and I was worried he wasn't going to enjoy this. Thanks to this board I was able to plan the night out. He brought his wife, grown daughter and grand daughter. He was in complete amazement at what was going on. From the trick or treating to the fireworks, the dance clubs and the parade it was all he talked about the next day. As for my family this was our first time at the MNSSHP after many trips and my kids loved it, the only problem was no matter how much I tried to plan it there was no way to fit everything into one night. I highly recommend this fun night.

The park closes @ 6:00pm the nights of MNSSHP to the general public. If you buy a MNSSHP ticket, it is admission into the park from 4:00pm to 12:00pm the day of the party.

ONLY people who purchase a separate MNSSHP ticket will be allowed into the park from 7:00pm-12:00am so the park is much less crowded. Hope than helped.

BTW, I will never miss another MNSSHP as long as I live!!! The best night I've ever spent in MK hands down. Not to be missed, worth every penny!!

Wow, and me not so much...

DH thinks I was overly stressed because of my parents and that's why I didnt enjoy it. I just think the cost didnt merit the crowds... my expectations must've been too high. It was wall to wall people!! It rained most of the early evening, so the first parade was cancelled, the 2nd parade you just couldnt get close to it... I feel as if I let everyone down, I had expected the 2nd parade to be less crowded, and then to see the antics of the adults trying to get that penny candy was obnoxious - the first reports from the board was it was "good cand" not for our date, just penny candy stuff - and long lines - and rude adults pushing their way in, and wanting to hit all 3 barrels instead of the line they were in... and at the end we went to the Alice Walk, all the characters left, it was close to midnight, and the MM house closed early, a CM told us we should put dd 9 to bed, and not be out so late, I made the mistake of asking what time it was (11:45) We went down the walk then, we had bags, but barely any candy, it just wasnt worth it... (the crowds, the lines, the rudeness) since it was near midnight 2 CM's noted dd empty bag, and she said that it was so crowded in the park, we didnt stand in line, he gave her 2 bags FULL!! Very sweet, and did bring a tear to my eye!!

And then before the trail ended, people were coming back saying they were out of candy at the end, and I felt guilty, that CM winked and said many people had 5 and 6 bags not to feel that way, and he gave me another bag!! :wizard:

The fireworks were awesome, but were the fireworks alone worthy of the $30? I guess my main problem was my expectations, I had been to e-nights, when it was $10 extra, and that was an empty park, that you did walk on - this mnnshp, no walk ons, some rides the line was only 15 - 20 min long I'll grant you, but it paled in comparrison to the $10 ticket, so my expectations were too high... that and my costume choices were shot down!!

DD enjoyed the Ticket and Transportation ride, no lines, and quiet, and it was cooler to ride that, we rode it 3 times just to get away from the crowds!!

Not to hijack thread but...does MNSSHP commonly "sell out" like the MVMCP did this year?

It's my understanding that DVC discounts are only for "day of" sales...is this true?

Is there a similar AP discount? TIA

We love it!!!! Definately worth the money for me DH & DD(7)

So, if you only want to go to the MK for MNSSHP what time can you go into the park? 4pm, 6pm or 7pm? I was a little confused by the times in your post. We would not enter MK until we were able to get in using the tickets to MNSSHP. Thanks for the clarification.

\That;s correct, with the mnsshp tickets we got in at 4pm, did not use our park ticket that day! They do check the date on the back of the ticket to make sure you remebered correctly!! :rotfl2: (The people in front of us were shocked, and upset, the man thought it WAS Friday!! The CM said, nope, but come back tomorrow with your tickets!!) :rotfl2:

The party is officially from 7-noon, but you can get in at 4. They may usher you over to Tommorrowland to wait until the party officially starts, they may not. We have experienced it both ways.
