I saw the dates were released for the party!! We are going 9/26-10/5 (we usually go around this time of year). Anyway, the party has never been so early in the month before, but now that we will be there for the first party night, I'm considering getting tickets for our family (children are 8,5and 4). Will the crowds be big because it is the first night? Do the children really enjoy it? We usually do the character lunch with Mickey/Chip/Dale but I thought maybe this is something they would enjoy even more? Thanks.

Here is a link to Deb Wills site for a description of MNSSHP

We went last year and had a great time. I dressed up as a random fairy godmother, my husband wore a t-shirt that said "costume," and DS wore regular clothes. It was very warm. We ate at LLT early, and had fun, even tho on the 25th it poured buckets about 10:30. Near the end, CM's were giving DS way too much candy. i don't know how crowded your night would be, but read the comments and the link, and you'll get some ideas.

I do think MNSSHP is more about the parades, shows, special events and trick-or-treating than the rides.

we always take our vacation the same time as you, late Sept/early Oct. Last year we went a week later and attended the first MNSSHP. It was sold out by the time the party started....but I don't know what that means as far as the crowds. We didn't think it was that crowded, compared to what we were expecting. We have found this time of the year is typically slow to moderate when it comes to the parks anyway, so hopefully that means the first two dates won't be so crowded. The CM I spoke to this morning said that the Friday night dates are always more crowded (except for Halloween). Is this making any sense at all? LOL, probably not....given the choice of going on that night and dealing with the crowds, I would go and deal with the crowds :)

Maybe we'll see you there! we are waiting for airfare--our trip will be sometime between Sept 26-Oct 11....MNSSHP and our daughter's birthday--yay!

We went to the first MNSSHP this past October and it wasn't that crowded...until you hit Fantasyland! It was crazy back there. We were thinking the crowds would thin out by the end of the night, but apparently, everyone else felt the same.
There was always a line for the fortune tellers, so we skipped that, but other than that, there wasn't a whole lot standing in the way of doing and seeing everything.
And I know it was the first week of October, but my biggest complaint was not enough people in costume!
