What does your family normally do that day of the party?
Buy a ticket and still go to the parks or save the money and put it towards the $300.00 it's going to cost us to get in! ,or just arrive 4-7 and enjoy the party, refreshed.
We are normally the "don't sleep in Disney" people, as we are 4 adults, but just wanted to see what others do.

since we already have the park tickets bought for the whole trip anyway we go into a park that day. we are three adults.

We went into the parks. We had 8 day tickets so the additional park day expense was minimal.

Next trip we may use that day as our swim day or something.

We normally skip the parks and do a relaxing day exploring resorts or lounging by the pool so that we are dead tired by the end of the party. I don't feel like the $$ savings really off-sets much of the cost of party tickets (we are only two adults). But we also will spend an additional day at MK, that's not our only MK day.

Same here. Once you get past day 4 on a multi-day ticket, additional days are $11. Now with FP+ I think it's a slam dunk that you should go into a park, at least for a few hours in the morning and have those additional FP's available to you.

We actually like spending the MK in the park because the crowds are lower on party days. We're crazy and stay all day, using a late afternoon TS ADR as a chance to regroup and get off our feet. But you can also take a break and go back to your resort.

We slept in, got the last breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's (11:20) and stayed until the characters left at 1pm. It was fantastic because the characters must continue to walk around and near the end we were almost the only ones left so we got undivided attention and they played it up real fun for us. We headed back to hotel and laid low for a couple of hours then got our costumes on and headed to MK for around 4pm. We stayed until the end of the party. It was my twin's 5th birthday and was a fantastic day!

We have been that time of day as well and had the same awesome character experience.

This year is a little different for us. I am flying in on 10/31 but early in the AM. Ill arrive in WDW by 10AM. I will not go to the park prior to the party because it is going to be a very long day. Hopefully our rooms will be ready early in the afternoon grab a shower and get our costumes on go to the party ON HALLOWEEEEEEEENNNNNNN.. SOO EXCITED. I will also be there for MVMCP and I will not go to a park prior to the party we are annual passholders as well but it makes no difference I would rather enjoy the party time with out running the risk of anyone getting tired

This is our first party, as well as the day of my DDs 10th birthday. I'm still not set, but I'm thinking of a lunch at DTD and some pool time. I don't want to wear everyone out before the party.

I ususally spend all day in MK. The crowds tend to not be as bad on party days. I also plan to do dinner or lunch in or nead the park. We're doing the character meal at 1900 Park Faire this time.

This is also my approach. I planned it so that we'll be getting to the resort around 10:30 or 11, then heading to the parks around 4 or 4:30. It just made sense doing it on what would be a partial day anyway! (Though we're going on 10/22. I bet it's awesome on Halloween!)

We are going to maybe see the rope drop (staying at BLT and kids are EARLY risers) stay for a few hours then relax in the afternoon that day because I don't want uber-cranky kids. Thinking I might do a TS reservation at 4:30 or so or we might just do CS. The ticket prices since we are staying 6 days is negligible for that day regardless but if you wanted to just do resort activities that day as well and skip that you could consider that towards cost. The MK that day should be light since it has limited operation hours.

We've booked MNSSHP on the 15th September, got kids in for pirates league at 12:15, will then stay all day in MK and let the kids get the most fun from their outfits

We tend to hang out at DTD and have lunch - then head back to our villa to change into costumes and arrive at MK for 4pm.

This if it was a 2 day or less trip we would save the money but once you hit four days you may as well go to a park

It would depend on the length of the trip. When we did MNSSHP on a long weekend trip, we did a park that day. When we did it as part of a longer trip, we planned off-site activities and resort time.

We always go to a park. DD, 9, has always been high energy and does fine with long days. When she was a preschooler, she would just nap in the stroller when she needed it- and as she got older and ditched the stroller, she has always been great with long days. For MVMCP which did not involve costumes, we have arrived at 9:00 a.m. and left at midnight more than once. We have also gone to AK that day, then gone back to the resort (in the MK area) about 3:00 and then to MK around 5:00. For MNSSHP, we usually go to a park, go back to the resort and change around 3 or 3:30, and then hit MK around 5:00 p.m.

We rope drop DHS, and either eat lunch there or back at the resort. We head to the MK bus stop at 3:00. This year we have hoppers, so we may go to MK earlier. Not sure yet. Probably a day of decision.

I think it depends on the length of your trip, the more days then the less it will save you on your tickets but also the less time you have to see stuff anyway.
We will be doing 10 days at WDW plus 2 party days (one MNSSHP and ne MVMCP) plus we have another 8 days on site (will go to Tampa for Busch and do a coupe of days at SeaWorld-we are skipping Uni for the first time ever). I am hoping the weather will be warm enough thsat it will be worth adding water parks and more for some of those days.
Sooo we (2 adults a 6year old, a 4 year old (both just having those Bdays in Sept/Oct) and a 20 month old (at travel date)are arriving on the 3oth (but basically the 31st as we arrive so late) and going to the Nov 1st party. We won't do any parks prior to the Nov 1st party and just do resort stuff, maybe a character meal, ride a pony at fort wilderness sort of thing.
We may go to the SeaWorld Halloween party on the 31st but given our long trip there and the time difference who knows what time the kids will wake up...

This will be our first time attending the party and we have planned a 9:35am ADR at Boma. I'm not sure if we'll head to a park after or just resort hop or what. Maybe we'll just hang by the pool? It really depends on how we feel. We may go shopping in DTD and then head back for swim time, naps and then we'll be off to our 5:20 ADR at The Plaza for dinner!
