BECAMOM

Guest
Just looking for some other opinions from those who have already seen the MNSSHP parade. I spoke to my SIL last night, she was there the other night, and said she was very disappointed in the parade. She felt that it was very poorly lit and hard to see the characters, and that it was nothing too special - she would have used the time more wisely doing something else in the park if she had known. What do you all think?

BECAMOM - 3 more days!

We loved the parade last year! It was great to see all the villians and the headless horseman was big hit. We went into Liberty Square so we were over the bridge and could hear the horse racing across the wooden bridge. We found a great spot across from the Sleepy Hollow food stand that had a wooden railing for DH and I to lean on. DD's sat on the ground and in the stroller.

If you can go to the second parade it is much less crowded than the first. I also highly recommend being somewhere in Liberty Square or close to it in Frontierland to get the effect of the headless horseman coming over the bridge.

The kids loved seeing all the Pooh characters in costumes and my little one has a thing for the wicked witch from Snow White who is in the parade. They had Cruella and real dalmation dogs too.

Don't miss the parade, it is one of the highlights of the party.

We saw it on 10/5 and we liked it. We were on main street and we everything just fine.

We went last week and we are going tonight, It exceeded my expectations. we loved the parade and the fireworks, all worth seeing. Would definitly recommend it.

Did she watch it from Frontierland? I find it too dark back there for the night parades like MVMCP. We watched MNSSHP from in front of city hall, it wasn't bad except they had a fog machine going in town square. I really like Main Street for evening parades.

I thought the parade was great!!! If you miss it, you are missing a big part of the party itself. ::MickeyMo

The parade is a must. Especially the "Headless Horseman". Grab a seat in Frontierland or Liberty Square!

I really enjoyed it and generally I HATE parades. I never stop when they're passing me let alone wait for over an hour like a did for this one!! WE watched it from a couple of benches near Cindy's castle, but a word of warning if you have a bench!! Lots of people decided to show up at the last minute and stand right in front of us!!  I was quite annoyed, we ended up standing on the bench so that we could see above the etraordianrily tall people who parked their feet right in front of us 3 minutes before the parade

We saw the parade from Frontierland, right at the pathway to Splash Mountain, and thought it was pretty lame. It was dark, and hard to really see the characters. Also, although we were there ~20 mins. prior to the start of the parade (while they were still letting people walk down the street), we never saw the Headless Horseman. THis was a bummer, as I was looking forward to him especially! Both DD and I were reasonably unimpressed and disappointed, especially knowing how much Disney can do with a parade. We didn't bother with the second parade, since the first run was so disappointing.

We were there on 10/10 and loved it so much that we waited around for the second run. We saw the headless horseman and that was cool. My DH, who doesn't like parades, was the one who wanted to stay & see it. We particularly like Roo being dressed up as Tigger.

It was pretty dark, but the music was super and it was very creative, in our humble opinions.

I guess this is something that you either love or hate... <g> Maybe you shold see the first one from a distnace (don't line up) and if you think you like it, go to the second?

In either case, have a GREAT time!

All in all, we liked the parade. I did think the Goofy's Hoedown segment was a little out of place. I know they are trying to promote the new show, but they could of had something better for the "halloween" parade. More characters in costume would have been great. I just didn't get the connection between halloween and Country Western Goofy.

We loved it last year and look forward to it again this year.

This will be our 4th year and everyone is looking forward to it. It is a truely special event.

We have seen it at base of Main Street -- At Castle - AT Hall of Presidents 2x. We really liked it in this area. Try there.
