We will be going to our first MNSSHP this September and I have a few questions about the parade.
  1. Should we try to see both the early and late parade?
  2. Where is the best place to view the parade both early and late?
  3. Does the headless horseman go the whole parade route?
  4. How early should we position ourselves so we can see the headless horseman?
Thanks!

I'll try to help, I'm sure you'll get more feedback as well!

We skip the first parade, its too crowded and you can get more done by skipping it.

I don't think there is a bad spot to watch from, but if you watch from Frontierland, and you have multiple adults and children, the kids can go to the Dance party or trick or treat while the other holds a spot. We have always watched from Main St, because we tend to leave right after and like being near the exit.

Yes, he does, unless its raining in which case he won't come out at all.

He comes through as the parade is starting, so as long as you are in place by 15 minutes early, you'll see him. However, if you want front row, you will want to line up earlier.

The Boo-To-You Parade is one of my favorites, so whenever I go to MNSSHP, I make sure to see it both times. The Horseman rides the entire parade route before both parades (assuming the ground is dry - he does not ride if it's wet or still raining). I think he steps off about 5-15 minutes before the parade starts, so if you're near the start of the route, you'll see the parade pretty soon after he passes. If you're at the end of route, the wait between the Horseman and the parade is longer. I would personally aim to be on the route at least 30 minutes before the parade starts so you won't miss the Horseman and you have a chance at getting a decent spot. I've watched from Liberty Square, Frontierland, and Main Street and all of the views seem pretty good to me. I would avoid being on the side of a bend, but that's about all.

Boo To You is hands down my favorite parade disney does, and when we go to MNSSHP, we watch it twice. If you're going to watch only 1, make it the 2nd one, as it is usually WAY less crowded.

That being said: be careful if it is a day when the weather isn't so great or if you have wee ones who didn't nap & might not make it. You don't want to miss the parade all together due to rain or sleeping! Lol.

I prefer to watch from Main Street simply because the lighting is a little better up there (not as dimmed as over in Frontierland) plus you get the Creepa Crew dance party pre parade.

Horseman rides the entire route, and is about 10 minutes before parade time. I usually grab parade spots 30 minutes before.
