Hi There!

I am in the early stages of planning a family vacation for next year! This will be our first time going with a group of family members. We will have 8, 7, and 5 year old girls and one 4 year old boy. We are indecisive whether we should go in the middle of September and attend MNSSHP or early December and attend MVMCP??? The last time we went to Disney was in December 2012 with just our daughter and it was MAGICAL! I'm not sure that we can really top that last experience. I'm thinking September will be warmer so the kids will be able to swim at the resort, not fret about getting wet on some rides, attend MNSSHP (Which I am dying to attend because I have never been to this party!) etc. but then there is my SIL and her family who have never been to Disney with their kids and this will probably be their only trip. So what would you do? If you have been to both, which is your favorite?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and share your input!

MNSSHP is definitely more fun. But, if you have the opportunity to go another year, then I would go early December so your SIL's family can enjoy their only trip to WDW at the most magical time. September is really hot and you will be able to tour the parks more pleasantly with the little cooler temps. You will most likely have warm days to swim too.

Any chance you could go the first week of November? You would be able to catch the last MNSSHP and the first MVMCP. The temps are cooler and the crowds are pretty good too.

We went in December last year for MVMCP and truthfully I was underwhelmed. We spent almost 2 hours waiting for a parade spot... not quite so magical!

We are going back down this October for MNSSHP and I hope that the experience will be a much better time.

If you are into Halloween, Halloween seems to have more going on. trick or treating. they all have dance parties etc.....
then again, Christmas is the only time it snows on main street.

I agree with you, go the first week of November and hit them both.:thumbsup2

Is it worth paying the extra cost to attend the MVMCP if you will be staying at Disney through Christmas? I believe several of the things offered for the MVMCP will be available for free later in December. Opinions?

If you're going to be there after the last MVMCP (which, if I had to guess, would be December 19), I would say no. (And I say this as someone who loves the party, BTW.) The Christmas parade and Holiday Wishes will be replacing the daytime parade and regular Wishes after the last party, and those are probably the biggest attractions to the party.
