MNSSHP on my own?

I have been considering this for a while. This will be the 4th year that I will be in Orlando for a ticketed party event. I was in Orlando in 2006 and 2007 while MVMCP was on and last year while they had MNSSHP. When we go in October, this will be on again. I really finally want to go and do one of the parties. I also have a costume for Pirate Night for our cruise that I can also wear to the party.

My problem is that DH is really not into the parks. His ideal way of doing the parks is running through them at speed during Race for the Taste. There is no way he would be interested in going to the party.

I spent many happy days doing the parks on my own during normal opening hours. From anybody who has been MNSSHP before, is this something that a solo adult would enjoy or would you feel out of place on your own?

MNSSHP is awesome to go as a solo adult. Dress up for it and people will be extra friendly.

If you're wearing a costume it sort of says "I'm fun" and then if you're alone, it's noticeable... so people chat with you while you're in lines. Plus, then if someone makes a comment about it, you can gush about how you're about to go on a cruise. (Hehe... actually, I just had to look it up: "OMG A PIRATE CRUISE?" )

One of my best times in DW was when I was in costume and by myself at night in MK.

MNSSHP is NOT to be missed! (I haven't done MVMCP).

I say go and don't miss it!

MNSSHP is a wonderful event, full of awesome fireworks, parades, costumes, candy and decorations! The MK is transformed beautifully into a Halloween theme and the decorations are magnificent. The Party is SO much fun and there is so much to do and see!

If you want to go, you should go. Don't worry about being alone-I think you'll have a great time being there! It is alot of fun!

You must go! I was by myself most of the time at one of the 2007 parties, and I'm going two nights this year, one with my friend and one by myself. I have no problem with it and in fact look forward to being alone so I can do exactly what I want! It's easy to blend into the crowd if you want, and I remember talking to a number of different people in 2007 while waiting for the fireworks and the parade. Go, you'll love it!

Here's an idea...why not start a thread and ask some other solo party goers to meet up with you? You don't have to hang out together the entire time, but it might be fun to get a group of solo party disers together for trick or treating. Could be fun!

No matter what, go, you will enjoy it!

Thanks for all your input. You helped me make up my mind to just go for it. As I will already have to take my costume anyway, it would be a shame not to. I will don my pirate finest, have fun and for the first time in my life will go trick or treating. I just have to make sure I don't pick up too much candy as I am flying back home the day after the party.
