DS and I want to be super comfortable for our first party on 10/8. We're going as Penny and Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. I don't know if anyone will know who we are but we will have fun with it! We love doing Big Bang quotes.
I will be going this year as Rorschach from Watchmen. Hope they don't deem it too scary as it's just a guy in trenchcoat with a really awesome mask.
We're planning on going as some of the crew from the show "Firefly"
There are rules about masks. You might want to make sure yours doesn't break them.![]()
Adult guests may wear masks, but the masks must not obstruct vision (you need to be able to see where youre going).
Thanks for the heads up. I've been scouring the web trying to find the rules about mask and all I can find is:
I think they're pretty lax in that respect. Two years ago we saw a guy in that horrible Jabba the hut inflatable costume, he couldn't see two feet in front of him.
In any case, the Rorschach mask is just a cotton pullover and it's pretty translucent so I should be ok. Does anyone see any rule posted about masks of any kind?
We're planning on going as some of the crew from the show "Firefly" with a backup as Pittsburgh Steelers players in case I can't get the costumes put together in time.
I've seen pictures of a lot of people going non-Disney.

We'll be there 10/8. We will know who you are, love the Big Bang Theory. Hubby just joked that we should go as Howard and Bernadette and meet up with you.
I'm still trying to decide what to wear/go as, hubby wants to wear his kilt. Any excuse he can find to wear itHe wants to be Braveheart. Not sure what to do for me, I'm a bit old for Merida

Could you be Merida's mother and your DH goes as her dad?
OT, but I have been to O'Fallon a few times. We like to stay there when we visit St. Louis.![]()
Funny as I have been to Dayton a few times. Working at Wright Patterson
Yes I've been looking at the mother. I figured DH would look like one of the Scottish guys with his face painted blue.
DH works at WPAFB.![]()
There are only two rules that I know of. One is the rule you listed and the other is that it should be child-friendly.![]()
I know of 3 rules
1. Child appropriate costumes (No hookers and pimps)
2. No masks covering your face ( they DO enforce this)
3. No simulated weapons (guns specifically)
I was Indiana Jones last time, and I was told I would have to leave my Wembley behind. I met a guy who did Jack Skellington, with the full head mask and they told him he couldn't wear it. You might get by the gate breaking these rules but a Cm will eventually say something to you if you break them.
My two rules were specifically about masks.I am still on the fence about bringing my dagger for my Peter Pan costume. It is obvious that it is plastic, but I don't know if I want to mess with it all night. I suppose I could take it and just throw it away if it becomes annoying. Being 35 years old, I cannot think of another time in my life I would need a plastic dagger.

You might need a plastic dagger in several scenarios... PIRATES! CROCODILES
Post Pics of your Peter Pan!!!!

Guest who dress like Disney characters are NOT to pose for pictures or sign autographs for other guests.
Do not bring large or dangerous props with you.
Generally, costumes are not allowed for anyone over the age of nine during normal operating hours. However, Disney relaxes this rule on party days for guests spending the entire day at the Magic Kingdom.
