Saw this over on the Passporter boards:

"When I read the MVMCP post, I got a little worried and called Disney immediately, asking if the change would be in effect for Halloween, too.

Unfortunately, it is! They're not allowing anyone into the parks early this year, unless you have a dining reservation. Everyone else will only be admitted at 7 pm.

If you have a dining reservation between 4 and 7, they would let you in by taking your party ticket and giving you your wristband then, so you wouldn't have to go all the way back to the entrance at 7 pm."

What's everyone's opinion on accuracy? :confused3

I wasn't really buying it either but wanted to check! You never know but I think that would have had to be made MUCH more clear at this late date!

It would be a logistical nightmare to make people wait until seven and would have a severe negative impact on the overall guest experience.

Ditto the logistical nightmare. Imagine 20,000/30,000 people in line at once and how long it would take to get everyone's tickets and hand out wristbands.

It's much better to stagger people's arrival from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Yea, we heard this the last couple of years. I doubt they will require that, but we will know for sure the night of the first party, someone will post it if they can't get in at 4pm.

I just bought four tickets to MNSSHP today from DVC Member's Services and the CM voluntarily told me that we can enter the park at 4:00pm the day of the party. :goodvibes

Umm, Yes! That would be me! Our plans are to go the that first party though I don't have my tickets yet. LOL If I knew it was 7 I wouldn't buy a ticket! The extra 3 hours (by going in at 4) means I nice dinner before party activities start and maybe even a few rides! I still think it will be 4 but that's just my opinion! :goodvibes

Well..There have been various posts from people stating that Disney phone Cms have been saying this..We won't know for sure till the first party rolls around. While I doubt they will do this, they can do whatever they want..The party tickets state the party is from 7p-12a

This :thumbsup2 We'll definitely have to wait & see on this one, but honestly, there have been many reports on here from posters who have been told about the new policy of no early-admittance. Could be Disney is seeing that as a money-loser, and putting the $$ fix on (people with no park hopper would go to another park that morning, then use the party ticket to get 8 hours in Magic Kingdom. Or they would not buy a park ticket for that day at all -- but with a party ticket & getting in early they'd still have an 8 hour park day.) The suggestion that the only way to get in early is with a dining reservation -- if that's true -- will be another money-maker. People will fill the restaurants so they can still get in early. Say, a 4:00 PM meal at LTT...will take an hour or less, and then you have 2 extra hours on your party ticket. And Disney got you to eat table service that night.

While I agree it could be a logistical nightmare to have all party-goers lined up at the same time, I have also read that this is more or less the way Disney used to do these hard-ticket events. Have seen reference to a "holding area"...seems like it was over in the Noodle Station area...roped off. Party goers were admitted with their tickets, but all directed over there to wait for the start of the party while CMs "swept" the rest of the park clear of non-party goers. So apparently it worked before to have all party-goers coming in at about the same time.

Umm, I doubt Disney cares if you arrive at 4 or at 8. Either way the park is open and rides are operating. It cost the same to operate the park whether you are in there or not, but if you're in there then you might be spending money.

Sort of like us, we have a 4:20 ressie so we'll be in there spending money, which is what Disney wants. By keeping us out we'd possibly be spending our dinner money outside the park.

I don't think this is correct info. There is another thread about this dated 7/8/2010. I am questioning this because when a guest calls for information now, they are actually getting a call center which has given out false information or they are just reading party event starts at 7 PM. We are attending MVMCP this Nov.

From what the people that have posted said, the cms are saying that this year they will not be allowing guests in at 4pm as in the past ..There is a thread somewhere around..like I said I doubt that they would do that, but they can do whatever they want since the posted party hours on the tickets are 7p-12a.Letting people in at 4pm has been a freebie for awhile doesn't mean they HAVE to do it.

It's true that every year this rumor happens due to a CM or two saying so on the phone. It (so far) has always turned out not to be true and they do let party goers in at 4P for the party.

However, this policy/perk can change at any time since it is unofficial. Technically the party doesn't start till 7p.

BUT if they were to stop this perk of letting party goers in at 4p this year, then I believe that that would mean they are changing the whole system of entering for the party as it would be a nightmare to just stop letting party goers in at 4p and not change anything else and having everyone enter at 7p. :scared1:

Years ago, they actually closed the park for an hour to clear it out and then re-opened at 7p however, they did not make party goers leave during that hour. They just put them in one land while they cleared out the rest of the park of non-party guest. Before that system, they actually completely closed the park and only those dining somewhere could stay until the park re-opened at 7p.

So as you can see, the method of entering for the party has changed over the years and could very well change again without notice until the first party in September.

Time will tell.

The people at the call centers know that the Party Hours are 7:00pm to Midnight. The call centers are in Orlando, Tampa, Houston, Salt Lake City and somewhere in North Carolina. The people at the call centers don't know all the procedures.

There has been nothing published internally which states that the tickets will not be valid starting at 4:00. It is just that the call center people do not know that the tickets are valid earlier.

This same problem happens every year!

Subbing so I can stay in the loop. We don't do a park on a party day and we like to get to MK right at 4 and use all the time we have. I sure hope this rumor is FALSE :sad2: While I realize that the 4PM entry is just a nice perk that WDW has allowed in past years, if it wasn't offered, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't attend a party. $54 (plus tax) for 5 hours is not worth it IMO. But, since I've already purchased my tickets for this year, I just went online and booked myself a dining ressie at the Plaza for party day at 4:30 just in case. I will cancel if this rumor proves false once the parties begin!

Back in 2008 when we did MNSSHP, I asked the CM about what time I could get in when I ordered my tickets. His official response was "Well, the party starts at 7 pm." When I pressed and said that people reported being able to enter as early as 4 pm, he said that officially, you could enter at 7 pm.

We got in at a little after 4 pm with no problems. That was a couple of years ago, obviously, but I was given that answer on the phone when I inquired.

I don't understand how this would be a logistical nightmare? This used to be the policy, years ago, back when we first started going to MVMCP. I don't remember it being a problem at all.

In fact, I'd prefer it that way. Empty the park of the day guests first, then open it to the party. Feels more special that way.
