MNSSHP HalloWishes Dessert Party - Post tips, helpful hints, and chit chat

We went on the 22nd. I have nothing really to compare it to since this was our first MNSSHP, but I am SO GLAD we had the dessert party! The reserved viewing for the parade was such a blessing. There was plenty of room to spread out and even empty rope space. For the first and second parade, people were 2-4 deep everywhere else. The party itself was well organized and ran smoothly. We even had the hiccough of food allergies. There was plenty of space at the railing to watch the fireworks. We had lots of time after the party to do the trick or treat lines and ride several rides. If anyone has a specific question, I'll do my best to answer!

I also wonder about allergies. My daughter has a peanut allergy. Did you go straight to the dessert party after the parade? If so, did they walk you over as a group or were you left on your own to make it over there? Did you have enough time to get your dessert and eat before the castle projection site and fireworks started?? Thanks for your info. I think everyone in this thread is so curious for as much info as possible! There haven't been many reviews on this.

I saw that she got to parade viewing at 8:15, I was wondering about the dessert party at the terrace.

Could you comment further about their process of handling food allergies and whether that ate up a lot of dessert party time?
We walked over to the dessert party with the group right after the parade. I took a picture of the pass when we were almost through the line at 9:24. The line to get in was long but moved very quickly. As soon as we reached the podium they took our name and led us to our table and told us to wait for the chef to show us what was safe for DD. The chef was standing beside us before she finished telling us that. She walked us up to the dessert line (Which was long but also very fast moving) and pointed out what was safe. We then got in the line, got our desserts and were back at our table with plenty of time to talk and eat before the fireworks started.

For people that got to the parade viewing area "late", were you still on Main Street or elsewhere in the park? If so, was it hard to get there through the rest of the parade crowd?

By looking at your user name, it looks like you wrote this review? If so, great job and great pictures!!
Yes, I did and thank you again! I always feel a bit hinky about posting links to my own stuff, so I don't do it much. I really like being able to show what's actually going on at some of these darker events, and I'm glad to hear about when people find the information useful!

I showed my kids all your pics of the desserts and they are so excited now!!

Can anyone confirm if there is creme brulee at this dessert party? If so, what flavor?
I went to the 11/20 party and there was no creme brulee. In fact, they are using the creme brulee cups for the "drinking chocolate", which is a new nightly feature for the "normal" Wishes Dessert Party and the Happy HalloWishes Party. Things can and do change of course, but I think they need to use "those" cups for creme brulee becuase they're ceramic... everything else is plastic and would melt. My guess is... creme brulee is gone for good from the MK Dessert Parties. That's just a guess though.

this is an amazingly detailed review with tons of great pics!

Thank you for sharing!

Hello everyone! We are going on October 6th and I am so excited after reading the reviews. I do have a question though. The check in time for the parade is 7:30 on the Disney website, however some of the people who commented said they didn't show up until after 8 for the parade. Do you have to be there at 7:30 or can you show up right before is starts?

We'll be there Oct 6th as well so see ya there!

Thank you for the review and pics - it looks fabulous. I am so glad I managed to get a reservation.
Anyone else going on Friday 10/9? We will be there then, dressed up as Inside Out characters.

Thanks so much for the great pictures and review. Would you mind sharing some photo tips on getting good colors and in focus pictures of the parade? What camera/settings did you use?

Other random question - I linked our MNSSHP tickets to phantom people so I could get fast passes. Is it a problem that the tickets are assigned to different people than are assigned to the dessert party? Do they just check your name off a list when you check in or do they scan your ticket/magic band? Thanks!

Oh, even after several years, I don't feel like I've got the parade 100% figured out from a photography stadpoint! I don't want to get too far off topic for the thread, but those parade photos from the review were shot with prime lenses f/1.4 - f/2's and a shutter speed of 1/320 or faster. Most camera's on "auto" will try to go with a much slower shutter speed becuase it's so dark... and that's where blur starts showing up. It's a very, very difficult parade to photograph.

Hi everyone, I am a long time lurker but first time poster - such a great site! We are coming over from the UK in 3 weeks and will be attending Mnsshp and have the dessert party booked. Thank you to everyone who has posted reviews so far - I was just wondering if anyone had been able to pick up the party lanyards anywhere other than will call - we will be in MK from about 2pm and I don't fancy leaving the park just to collect the lanyards!
TIA!

Hi all, wondering if anyone can tell me if this will be doable or should we just try for the second parade? We managed to get a B.O.G. dinner reservation for 7:05 on a party nt. We also have dessert party reserved. Will it even be possible to have dinner and a look around the rooms as well as pics with beast and get back to the reserved area for parade? Anyone know if you will be let in after parade starts even tho it won't be at the hub yet? Thank you for suggestions.
