MNSSHP HalloWishes Dessert Party - Post tips, helpful hints, and chit chat

Eh, did you look at that sundae? It looks like a big pre made waffle with a little bit of soft serve on top like you'd get at IHOP... I was excited when I heard it too but now not so much. ;)
The waffles aren't premade, but it was still very meh. It needs some caramel sauce or something, plus real ice cream. And the waffle wasn't even very flavorful. I'll skip it next time, in favor of another pumpkin funnel cake in Epcot!!

The first party isn't until the 15th.
Thanks, I never looked at the dates of the party, just the date that I wanted and once I was able to secure my party I never read any more :) Now I know to start looking for posts in less than 2 weeks, I will still have plenty of time to cancel by then if I decide not to keep the reservation. Although now I have added another party night to allow us plenty of time to do everything including the dessert party - we found out our first time that one night just wasnt enough for us :) So I doubt I will cancel the dessert party unless it gets really bad reviews from the majority of people.

One week from tonight our first DIS'ers will be hitting the Dessert Party. Looking forward to hearing about their strategies on how to plan for a great night!

Anxiously waiting.... And photos are welcome

Photos will apparently cause this to become a "Review" thread and get it moved to a different board. We were notified of this on page 3 (posts 45-49). As much as I would also like to see photos of the areas, etc (because photos are the best tool one can use to plan something) anyone posting a photo need to probably state WHY they are posting it and offer a strategy or planning purpose for posting the photo.

Users can also make their own review thread on the appropriate forum (maybe there will be one big review thread) and link that thread here for others to see.

For me personally, part of planning my trip is reading about others experiences. There is a difference in posting a trip review and posting info you have first hand knowledge of so others can use that info to plan. Or so I thought.

Just everyone be careful in how you post so this thread remains easily accessible. Looking forward to hearing your strategies!

Really pretty sure last years VSS was in this forum with reviews and photos...

I'm going to the first party and I'll take pictures and try to write a review. I'll let you know when I've posted it and link it to the correct area since I already got my hand slapped once for politely asking if we could keep this up since people actually have to prepay this event and can only cancel five days out.

TONIGHT is the night of the FIRST HalloWishes Dessert party! Really anxious for feedback to help with planning for those of us going later.

Thanks for being troops and the guinea pigs who TEST out all the CUPCAKES! :-P

Looks like there is rain in the forecast for today...hopefully it will dry out in time for the party!!

Quick report. I was unable to take pictures as the line was a mad house. However food was good and viewing areas were ample. Feel free to PM me any specific questions you have.

Souvenir glow cubes? Any extras like the Soiree last year? Parade area worth it or too crowded?

There were no glow cubes. I can't comment on extras vs. the VSS as I didn't attend last year. You did receive a skull cup full of candy. We skipped the parade viewing as we were waiting on the Dwarves and riding rides. I'm sitting curbside at town square right now for parade #2. Just walked up two minutes ago and was able to secure a curb seat.

Meh. I may cancel, pending more reviews of the parade viewing area. I don't need $69 worth of just cupcakes.

Are you referring to the line for food or the line to get in?

I'm hoping someone will comment on the check in process (for the Dessert party itself, and then getting into the parade viewing area and then into the party area itself). Also the herding process from parade area to party area. Those are the biggies for us.
