My son just turned 13 and I was thinking of taking a quick trip in October for MNSSHP. Do you think kids that age would still get a kick of it? Anything in particular that a teenager might like? I don't think he would be too into a bunch of little ones going around asking for candy. I am sure there is more to it than this. What do you think about it for a 13 year old?

my son is one of those "COOL" kids. LOL But he is looking forward to trick or treat again. LOL None of his friends will be around. He will be 15 when we go. He is also going to do this with my 19 year old nephew. They are getting a kick out of this.

Our older kid is looking forward to hopefully riding BTMR over and over and over
We did this the night we were at MVMCP

Well, this "older" kid loves MNSSHP. I'm hoping my DH never gets tired of it or else I'm going to have to rent a kid or borrow someone elses's.

I love everything about the event. The lighting creates an incredible atmosphere, all the rides are open, and if you can, try to get into the Haunted Mansion right before the party ends. We did that one year, and when you leave the Mansion after the party has already shut down, you really find out how spooky the Haunted Mansion is.

It's one thing when you walk past the funeral coach in daylight or with others around you. It's a whole different thing when you walk past it in the dark, alone, with the fog swirling around you.

This is one of those "must-do's".

My 15 year old is free. LOL

thanks for the advice. I can't wait to try it.

That should've read DD, not DH.

I couldn't get my DH to go to MNSSHP if I put $100 bill in his pocket! :)

DS likes it-- he's a bit younger 11 (almost 12) but he acts more like a teen then a kid anymore. I think part of it is because his friends aren't there.

My DS (13 1/2) and DD (15) are both very excited to be going. My DS wishes he could go to WDW every month if he could. He's dressing up as the Magic Mirror from Snow White. DD is going as the Evil Queen. They are looking forward to the whole experience of WDW at Halloween.

It is amazing what kids will do without their friends around.

DS11 and I did MNSSHP last October. We didn't really trick-or-treat or see characters. But we did get to go on a lot of rides with no wait. We did Splash Mountain several times as there was no wait. (Sadly BTMRR was closed.) Also no wait for Haunted Mansion. The only area that seemed really crowded was Tomorrowland.

We did also watch the second parade. There is a neat storytelling of the Headless Horseman in front of the Liberty Bell 10 minutes before the parade. It even ends with a special appearance! DS11 really enjoyed this part (parade was a little boring to him). Get a seat early as this area gets very crowded.
