I know, it's early - but we are officially booked, and I'm doing my planning way ahead of time:) Is MNSSHP worth it for adults?

Thanks for the advice:thumbsup2

I love it. Great parade, great fireworks, short lines and you get to trick or treat.

Ahh, thanks - we're there Oct 22-Nov1st, but I think we;ll avoid the actual 31st. :) Is it normally sold out midweek?

with previous experience it is usually the 1st few times since some are trying to grab both event.. F&W and MNSSHP ... you should be fine... Good Luck!! I wish you magical and good times!!!:wizard:

Just went last year with my DD17. We had an absolute blast! We were fortunate enough to get tickets for the first or second party of the year so we didnt think it was too crowded. We can't wait to go again although we don't have any plans to do so yet.

My Fiancee and I went last year and had a great time. We got dressed up went trick or treating (his first time as they didn't have trick or treating in the UK when he was little) and enjoyed Hallowishes and getting on the rides with barely any lines. We even got our own log on Splash Mountain. I would recommend the party to Adults and get dressed up. You won't be the only adults dressed up. We weren't anyway.

I totally recommend it. My husband and I were given free tickets on our honeymoon - we had decided not to go because we thought it was only for kids but it was awesome!! It was in Sept and it was very quiet, we loved the parade and the shows were great. There are loads of decorations they don't have up all the time as well as cool lighting effects, plus minimal waits for the majority of rides. The characters are dressed up too and there are often combinations of characters that are rare - eg we got pics with snow white and all 7 dwarves! (maybe it's not that rare but we had never seen it before, anyway!) So yes, go, and be a kid again. We stood and watched the little ones in the dance party for ages, and felt like we were 5. Have fun!!!

i have a total and complete blast at MNSSHP!! TOTALLY WORTH THE TICKET PRICE! as the park is very empty .. you can ride everything, have a very unobstructed view of the parades and fireworks. ohh i cant wait for it this year!

It was a blast!
Go, get dressed up! Get treats!

I dressed up, and totally enjoyed it.
There were so many adults dressed up --with and without kids.

There were many people who just wore Halloween tshirts, and that was neat as well.

Just, if you're not really clear on where things are in the park, be sure to pick up the regular park map in addition to the MNSSHP map--because the latter is really vague on on locations.

Take time to look at all the decor and props... at night there's so much more to see. And the parade is wicked!!!!! The Fireworks equally wicked!!!!!
I sat right up close to the castle, but would have had a great view moving way back as well.

My dh and I have went the past two years. We are lucky enough to go to Disney in September without the kiddies. We were a little hesitant the first one but once we got there we were so happy.

The park only allows a limited amount of people in so you get to go on all your favorite rides. The setting is great. It is a totally new look to the park, with the lights and the special parade and just the feel of it all together.

We are planning on going again this fall and cant wait. It has become one of those special things my husband and I share together.

I'm thinking about going when I'm there in September as a solo. It's a great way to get into the Magic Kingdom without using a day's ticket.

I would absolutely go solo. Its a great way to see the park without using a whole day ticket. The park has such a different vibe to it, it really is cool to see at least once. Enjoy!

We'll be going on the 31st as an all-adult party and all three of us are going to be dressing up. It'll be my first time @ MNSSHP but I just know I'm gonna love it! Even though I know it'll be a sold-out night, it's gonna be a blast!

When will you be there? I'm going solo and doing the party on 9/11. Oh just realized what date that is.

If you're only there a few days, and daily tickets are still pricier than the event, MSSHP is cheaper than a day ticket.

But if you're there longer, then it's an extra purchase, because the MYW price per day decreases the more days you buy:
2008 (don't think 2009 prices are out yet)(*not ALL dates can be bought advance purchase--I expect these would be nights they expect to sell out of anyway prices):
Advance Purchase Price* [$48.95 + tax (Ages 10+)
Day-of Event Price $55.95 + tax (Ages 10+)
VS
MYW ticket per day (no park hopping or water parks, & 14day expiry) (these $$ are from current price list and with taxes in)
1 day $75
2 day $74.50
3 day 70.67
4 day $54.75
5 day $44.40
6 day $36.50
and it just keeps decreases to a 10 day MYW costing $23.70 a day.

But having said that, I still think it's totally worth the price-- I ordered mine in advance and paid $7 less than at the door, still have the pass, it's a cute plastic credit card looking thing!
The event was great, Disney knows how to throw a theme party! Villains and ruffians! Gravediggers in the parade! The parade and fireworks are outstanding, and a very different experience from the usual MK experience!

I went Friday Sep 12 2008, and very few lengthy lineups (big exceptions: character greetings and some fantasy land rides).
This year, I'm thinking of going on Tuesday Sep 15 2009... maybe there'll be even less of a crowd. Even if it's not, it's still less crowded than a usual day at MK!
The event starts at 7, but they let you in earlier (as early as 4, I've heard from many.)
:)

DW and I went last October as two adults. We had a really good time. We wore matching great pumpkin tshirts and got compliments from several CMs. We were not on a Disney vacation and only went to the party, DTD, and B&C. We did other things in Orlando and elsewhere in FL that trip. It was a nice way to include a little Disney.
